... and it says something like "see you at 9" or "I'm on my way now". Do you reply with something like "ok"? Or is the text conversation over already, with nothing more to be said? I never know whether to write a response in this scenario. Depending on who it is, I might fret for some time about whether to send a message back or not.

If this is not relateable, do you have any of your own (seemingly innocuous) social situations that you struggle to deal with?

Depends on the context of the conversation and what else has been said up to that point.

You're overthinking it. A simple "ok" or a thumbs up emote would suffice. Similarly, a non-response would be fine so long as you were able to meet at 9.

Depends who it is and what happened to lead to that point. If it was already agreed I probably wouldn't bother replying unless I was close to the person, if I was close to them I'd probably say like see you then or throw over a thumbs up or something.

Yeah it's largely dependent on the wider context but that said I would usually reply with something like a simple "ok" or "cool, see you in a bit" type message just because that seems like both the polite and friendly thing to do :D

A simple ok or thumbs up does the job and acknowledgment shows the sender you're on your way too etc.

I would always appreciate a confirmation from the other person if I was sending the time suggestion so I send a confirmation when receive a time suggestion.

Yeah, thumbs up emoji all the way.

Unless I know they'll be driving, in which case I leave it so as not to distract them.

I would always confirm with an ok and also expect the other person to confirm that they've seen my confirmation as well.

That way both parties know that confirmation has occurred and there is no need to wonder about whether confirmation hasn't been received.

But do you confirm that you've seen their confirmation of your confirmation?

If it's a friend/family member or familiar work colleague:

See you at 9 = "Will do" or "Okay *thumbs up*" or "Sounds good"

I'm on my way now = "See you there" or "See you in a bit"

If it's anyone else:

See you at 9 = "I will place your severed head at the altar of the old gods"

I'm on my way now = "Your blood will only serve to hasten my revolution"

Definitely either an "ok" or a thumbs up.
