Your batsh*t mental dreams

I recently dreamt that i was eating myself with a knife and fork, calmly, and without pain.

I have no idea what that batshit mentalness was all about.

I had one a while back. I had murdered someone & the only way I could get rid of the evidence was with a toothbrush the size of a lamp post.

Found it but then woke up. I guess I’d of got away with it

I recently had a dream that I was watching some sort of documentary about a serial killer who had killed forty people and buried them in his garden, the serial killer was the guy from the Sun Life ads.

And some people say other people's dreams are boring. I find dreams fascinating! And in this case, funny.

Generally my dreams are always batshit, mostly terrifying and often involving zombies where I spend most of my time running or trying to climb to a high point to escape the horde.

Dreamed two nights ago that I worked as an intern in the White House. In the middle of the day, in an empty dining room (which was huge and stuffed with tables and chairs), I was asked by a higher up to cook approximately 1,000 chicken dinners for a state occasion - with potatoes and all that. I said no. I spent the rest of the dream, as the White House turned into a large Bohemian castle because why not, wondering if I had made the right decision.

I dreamt that my niece had a mop and she was dabbing it at a broken light. I grabbed the mop off her because I was afraid she was going to get electrocuted, she turned around and said something unintelligible in a deep voice and I woke up.

I said to the girlfriend and she thought I was nuts.

Had a dream last night that I was at a barbeque for Coventry City's old boy fans (is there even such a thing?). There was a shopping mall nearby where I was attempting to buy a copy of Rock Band and a plastic guitar from HMV for said barbeque. On my return the party was in full swing, but some younger City fans had arrived and was causing a bit of trouble so I went back to HMV to buy a copy of Coventry City anthems on CD to mollify them (WTF? ) While in HMV a kid I remember from school was there laughing in a really strange way that I was a Coventry fan to which I said "At least I have a job you prick".

I then woke up.


I don't follow football or am a Coventry City fan, although I did go to Highfield Road with the [then] wife and our nephews many years ago.

Had a strange nightmare last night. Was at work and was strolling across the carpark to the main entrance when this I spied this old, scary looking woman having an argument with James Hetfield about parking. I said to James that the gig was great, then muttered something to the old witch about moving her car and to stop causing agro. The next thing I knew was that she was [slowly] chasing me around the hospital, although the hospital looked more like a department store on the inside. No matter where I went there she was waving her stick at me and yelling obscenities. At the end of corridors, the bottom of stairwells, no matter where I turned there she was! I eventually hid in a cubicle in some very posh toilets where I could hear her outside shuffling about saying "I know you're in here!"

It was genuinely a horrible experience!

Had several dreams about Harley Quinn this week. It feels like we're close but I think I'm in her friend zone. I'm really hoping that the dreams continue and we can progress the relationship. Feels like there might be something special there.

Once had a similar kind of dream about Liv from iZombie (Rose McIver), was definitely not in the friend zone though, sadly wasn't a recurrent dream.

Damn brain making me dream about unattainable (fictional) women.

Can't go wrong with Rose McIver, to be fair.

I've just woken up from what has to be the most terrifyingly real nightmare I can ever recall having.

It begins with me witnessing events from the perspective a viewer looking down from a isometric viewpoint, much like an opening in a movie. A gang of hooligans from an unknown city/town are meeting up for the day when two of the younger members break off and head off in a different direction. There's a bit of a blur then from the same perspective I see two teens, a good-looking boy and a girl, agreeing to meet up later on outside an undescribed shop for a date - there's a real happy vibe about it.

There's another blur of events I cannot recall, (a scuffle or something in this unknown town of mine), then I find myself looking through the eyes of the young lad, who's meeting the girl, walking up to the shop entrance when I notice the aforementioned thugs hassling my 'date'. I attempt to intervene when they both pounce on me. I can here the girl screaming for them to leave me alone as they rain down kicks and punches. It's so frighteningly real and the pain is unbearable. Next thing I know one of the arseholes is dragging the girl by a tuft of her long, fair hair on to a bus that has pulled up. I start to throw punches at the one who has hold of me, but he just headbutts me and delivers a blow to my throat. Again it feels so real, I can actually feel myself unable to breath for a few moments. Blood filling my mouth.

There's another blur then I find myself lying face down, with my hands tied behind my back, on some wet grass in what I think may be some park in the middle of nowhere. I'm battered and bloodied and I can see one of the thugs running at me with a bit of 2-by-4 that he swings at my head. There's an almighty crunch and once again I can feel the pain as blood and teeth spray everywhere. I'm dazed and confused for a few moments when suddenly I'm once more looking at things from the perspective of a viewer looking down. I watch helplessly as the young girl is hit with the same lump of wood then kicked in the head mercilessly, over and again, until she passes out. I can feel myself crying out, helpless to do anything from above.

The dream ends with me witnessing the two hooligans carving their nicknames into the grass, (I couldn't read the names, but knew that was what they were doing), baiting anyone to go to the police and anyone who does will face the same consequence.

It was then I woke up with a start. Right now I don't want to go back to sleep so am having a cup of tea. I'm genuinely shaken by my nightmare. It felt so real and I've no idea what brought on such a horrible dream.

Nobody knows why but teeth falling out is a very common nightmare associated with stress.

Perhaps it's some kind of primal fear of age, because without flouride our teeth just aren't meant to last very long, naturally (in prehistoric terms) most humans would die in the 30s and that's a long life.

I'm 32 btw.

when i was a kid i had a dream that my tongue was on fire in places. i then drank a glass of water and my tongue now had holes where the fires were

For sure yeah I had those dreams most during A level and throughout undergrad, which thus far have been the most stressful times of my life.

Going to be pedantic and embark on a tangent here for a second though; actually homo sapiens seem to have been selected to for longer lives. While mortality in youth was very high, a hunter gatherer that survived past the age of 15 could be expected to live well into their 60s barring any accident or disease (disease like we have now being less common back then). Teeth don't necessarily last that long yes but teeth brushing/cleaning behaviour predates civilisation and our ability to prepare food mitigates the loss of teeth somewhat. But yeah compare how long we live with similarly sized mammals; in the natural setting we outlive things in our weight class. I hope that assuages any mortality related fears you have

On a related note I had this one dream where I was hunting mammoth on the eurasian steppes. gooseberry fool felt real, and I felt a great sense of loss when I woke up, as if I had been robbed of my chance to live as I was meant to

I've had dreams where I've felt real pain. One horrible one was a nuclear bomb going off in the distance, and then feeling the heat of it build until it incinerated me, terminator 2 style. Really felt the heat.
