Pot Noodle - Chow Mein is best.

Whitefish, Sable, Cream Cheese, Capers, Onions on a Bagel.

My default for the forum Sandwich discussion.

Bread, I don't care what type. Thick slice of really mature chedder cheese with Raspberry jam / preserve on top.

Any sandwich that takes longer to make than it does to eat, is a failed sandwich.

A Subway footlong Meatball Marinara, but crucially it has to be piping hot, and you have to be eating it steaming from six pints plus at 2/3am.

If fried chicken with a black garlic mayo and pickles on brioche doesn't count as a sandwich, then I have to go for this chargrilled veggie sandwich adapted from a recipe by Internet Shaquille -

Toasted ciabatta roll with goats cheese and pesto, filled with heavily seasoned chargrilled aubergine, peppers and portobello mushroom.

Chicken Parm Bagel from Bross Bagels in Portobello, Edinburgh.

Chicken Schnitzel, Melted Mozzarella, Marinara Sauce, Jalapeno on an Everything Bagel.

The chicken tends to be about 3 times the size of the one in the photo!

Are you including bacon sandwiches in this heresy?

Just use the pre cooked stuff that comes in plastic packets (like you'd get on a rustlers burger).

You don't even have to heat it then, you can eat it cold.

No, that's the one exception, because of its otherwise simplicity.

I'm surprised no-one has gone for the crisp sandwich. I'd say cheese & onion Tayto, but a filthy woman I once knew went with flaming hot monster munch. I should have married that pervert.

Also, speaking of depravity, a well buttered digestive biscuit sandwich (no bread), with a slice of cheddar in the middle.

I am both shocked and disgusted that no one has mentioned the Scottish delicacy a Piece.

That's kind of acceptable compared to the ungodly concoction of Ryevita topped with cottage cheese and piccalilly my mum often has for lunch.

Yes, my family is full of weirdos.

Of all the different local words for rolls in the world, I think Breadcake is the funniest. It's like a cake, right, but it's made of bread!

I can't gloat mind, I'm in Leicester. I'd just ask for a cob.

I’m originally from Derby so for me it was always a Cob too. It’s the slow assimilation into South Yorkshire.

They have other regional variations too like calling a Jitty a ‘Jennel’.
