Partly inspired by this Empire article: https://www.empireonline.com/movies/fea ... od-movies/

It made me remember I really like watching the Oceans films (well, less so 12...) when I want something easy going.

Also, while I would listen to various shows on catch up a fair bit, I'm finding myself listening to live BBC 6 music a bit more than normal, guess it helps me feel a bit more connected.

So, what little things are you all turning to right now that are helping you through this time?

Gaming: ACNH is the big one, I'm sure I'll get back to Skyrim and other staples soon too
TV: mostly sitcoms. Currently redoing Friends and Parks and Rec, will do golden era Simpsons soon, etc

Mostly those two to be honest!

All three of those activities sound neat, Milner!

Gaming - Fallout 76, Animal Crossing and the AYAMMM event.
Music - Smooth Chill radio.
Reading - Used to read a lot but have massively lost that desire these past few years. Really want to get back into it.

It’s a good combo at the moment, do you like comics Jawa? I find reading them a lot more enjoyable than a regular book. I love the stories and admiring the art work that goes with them.

Yeah, funnily enough, Milner, my route back into reading has been via manga; I've returned to reading Tokyo Ghoul. Used to buy and read a lot of American comics during the 90s. It is fantastic to see cool stories and artwork, isn't it? :-) .

Definitely, sometimes the artwork really jumps off the page and brings you into the world more than a regular book can.

I’ve seen Tokyo Ghoul on TV a couple of times, have you seen the Shonen Jump app where you pay £1.99 a month and you get access to lots of different manga?

Although I won't be using them for a while, making and painting wargames models is a great way for me to be creative and in a way that has a physical output at the end of it.

That Shonen monthly fee looks to be amazing value, Milner! Haven't tried it out, though... I'm a little unsure about digital comics but I'll probs check it out some time!

I've gone back to Rock Band in the last couple of days while in self-isolation. It's a very cathartic game.

We're working through a lot of our favourite films - Dredd, Fury Road, Constantine, Galaxy Quest, Days of Future Past, Three Kings etc etc. Also doing a lot of cooking - out of necessity but also it's a nice activity. We've also got Picard and Deadwood on the go in terms of series. I was thinking of seeing if I could get Civ 4 (or 5 or 6, but 4 is my fave) running on my shitty laptop but not too hopeful.

We've also started going running together at night (he's much faster than me but recovering from injury).

He's a graphic designer and model painter and I'm studying archaeology, so we've set up an office where we can crack on doing our own stuff but still be together, then the living room is a dedicated space for other stuff like films and we can move between them to make it seem less claustrophobic in the flat.

8-)

Dredd and Fury Road are definitely two of the films I always rewatch just to chill out - also The Princess Bride, Airplane!, Equilibrium, Attack the Block and anything by Edgar Wright (but Hot Fuzz/Scott Pilgrim/Baby Driver especially).

TV: Tom and Jerry, Samurai Jack, Peep Show, Dr. Katz

Games: Link's Awakening, Steep, Go Vacation, any of the PSP Star Wars Battlefront games

...and now I want to do all of these things

At the minute Animal Crossing New Horizons, a wonderful way to escape from reality for an hour or two each day :)
