Title : Your favourite James Bond movie.

Reasons why it's a James Bond movie

Sean Connery is playing a character called James Bond
It's based on Thunderball which was written by Ian Fleming.
You've got all the other characters in the Bond universe. (M, Felix Leiter, Blofeld)

Just because Eon productions didn't make it, doesn't mean it's not a Bond film.

I dread to think anyone would pick Never Say Never Again as their favourite Bond film.

It was the first one I saw at the cinema, as it happened, and I loved it. Connery was super-cool, Kim Basinger wandered around wearing not very much and there was an amazing (to me, at the time) sequence involving a hologram world-domaination game played by the hero and the antagonist. Great stuff.

Hugo will be in in a minute to tell you that it lacks the staples of a James Bond movie...

As incredible as Goldeneye was; I just had to go for Goldfinger. It has a timeless feel about it that Goldeneye couldn't carry. Pierce Brosnan pulled the role off spectacularly, but he is no Shir Shaun. Very, very close call though. Daniel Craig and Timothy Dalton also get a special mention.

The nations of these islands are so gifted with special characters for brilliant actors to perform.

What's so absurd about that? Water is very valuable in several countries.

QoS is nowhere near as bad as Die Another Day, Moonraker or Octopussy. Come on people :|

QoS is not brilliant, but there are several Bond films that are far worse than it in terms of the plot.

But which is more enteraining? I found QoS to be a bit... drab.

It was the way it was presented. No importance was given to this supposed theft which when you're dealing with something as common as water is essential. The "big" reveal that is was water he was stealing was done so horrifically I actually laughed out loud.

I think I might need to watch it again. I thought it was explained in the film.

Explained; briefly. Presented well; no. As far as I remember, and this is from a while back, it's a one off line of dialogue that's never referenced again.

Doesn't mean it's an absurd idea, does it?

At least it doesn't have horrific CG, an invisible car or special effects that make Thunderbirds look like Avatar. Die another day actually made me LOL IRL when that Ice vehicle thing went off a cliff. It was just so bad.
