Another early Gamesradar memory is of someone coming out to their family. (Who I think it turned out were very supportive of them doing so.)

Joined the old school GR forums back in Feb of 2005, but spent most of my time in the gaming section rather than off topic. Not long after that I signed up to PoopGang, where I think I probably spent most of my forum time after that.

I do remember signing up to the ONM forum back when that launched in 2006, making about 50 posts a day for a week, and then barely returning at all.

I remember joining GR after getting banned from LLC after arguing with Rex again and I knew Dala posted over on GR so I thought I'd hop on over. I joined on the exact same day as the great Falsey and Captain Kil and had a spiderman avatar, this was before I started learning Japanese so I hadn't corrupted myself by that point. Best thing about Me, Kil and Falsey is we'd then go on to spend a good few years playing CSS and other games together nearly every night, we're all the same age and our birthdays are within days of each other. :toot:

Eighthours was a Super Grammer Nazi way back when. Probably while he was writing his book.

Protype said "Piss off, noob!" to me.

I remember being quite affronted until I realised it was a meme. Of course I had to learn what a meme was as well.

I gravitated towards the old GR from a Cube-Europe website. It had reviews and items of interest on all things Gamecube related. I lurked for a while and then discovered Off topic.
Beginning of January 2003 was when I started lurking.

Sadly there's very few of us left on here now.

You know it was ten years last month since we met for a pint in London.

How did you feel when it was ported to PS2?

The GC version was vastly superior though.

(No I mean it really was, the lighting effects in particular took a hit on PS2)

You know what I think I even remember the spiderman avatar.

And that double take from Eighthours is hilarious.

It was 2015 when SONM linked up with this forum, everyone was nice and found out that lot of people on here also liked Lego, flag news was welcomed after being banned by the oppressive regime of SONM along with other threads I enjoyed

I basked in the glory of my superior GameCube. And probably argued a lot with kids at school who thought the PS2 was more powerful.

I don't miss being a teenager actually.

I'm pretty sure I once carved into a school table, "Sony is evil, Ninty rule, tick if you agree" so yeah, that tells you about as much as you need to know about my borderline psychopathic Nintendo fanboyism aged 12. I might leave that one out when I appeal to them to get a tour of the Kyoto HQ sometime next autumn.

I remember it. To be honest, it's odd thinking of it as technically a competitor. As well as PressStartOnline.

Funnily enough I was reminiscing the other day about how it has been something like almost 10 or 11 years since the first Glasgow meet up, in which we drunkenly phoned both Denster and Bunni after another forumite bought a round of shots for the table. I don’t even know who had their numbers. That was...it didn’t end well.

If memory serves, that was invincible.

He used to get really wound up in console sales threads.
