Your first memory of GR / GRcade?

I signed up in 2005 after buying a DS looking for recommendations. Everyone was banging on about Osu!Tatake!Ouendan.

signed up in 2008 and got taught the blanket trick by Lew i think; it worked :datass:

I was registered on the Edge forums, they got shut down and I saw a few people saying they were heading to GamesRadar.

Stupidly I checked the place out and have been stuck here ever since.

Being told to strawberry float off for typing in text talk when I joined up, at age 13. They were right to do it.

I didn't sign up long before GR was shut down, I can't honestly remember now. I was on the PC Gamer forums for years and years and they'd gone terrible with the move to CVG Network so I think I was just hunting for a decent alternative. Didn't really get much of an impression of GR to start with. Back then there was always the usual 'we do not believe you are a female' general suspicion to get through then everything was just like this really.

I think I was lurking around the time of the board move shenanigans. I signed up properly in 2010

Getting a phonecall from I'm not sure who exactly during one of the early Glasgow meet ups. I think I spoke to half the folk on Sauchiehall street that night.

That will have been Banjo at the first one, I think. There was a point at which you were called, and then Denster was called, and because, err, someone had been buying rounds of shots for the table we were all too leathered to do anything but shout down the phone at both of you.

2003, my first post on GR and fanb0y told me to strawberry float off. I also remember someone posting a 'My sister: Hot or Not' thread around the same time that ran for about 50 pages or something.

im sure gr used to do like top 10 articles or something that i read, joined the forums, never posted, then moved after a bit after everyone else did and it seemed the forums would be alive

Signed up to GR to ask a question in the Halo 3 thread and was met with a snarky answer from Sarge or some other banana split. I'm sure I browsed before that though.

Blame the sonm merge for my presence. My first memory of here was having myself quoted by Moggy. It was something to do with superman if I remember correctly.

My friend still to this day types like an idiot and I put it down to him never being on forums.

Forums taught me to type properly as well.

Joined in 2004 having stumbled on Gamesradar looking for info on the then GameCube exclusive twilight princess reveal (before it was called twilight princess). strawberry float me that was so long ago now.
