Nope, it’s the borderline insane option. £1 to sign up, then your Live gets converted. Nothing else to pay until those months run out.

:toot: :toot: :toot:

That is bonkers  Still I’ll probably sign up for a couple of months and then go from there, having a very brief look I’ve seen CD Keys have a 12 month live subscription for just under £40 which doesn’t seem bad!

The best thing to do is sign up for the maximum amount of time for Live as possible (3 years) and then pay the £1 for Game Pass Ultimate as you'll make a huge saving.

I never had an Xbox One of any kind, so I'll be catching up on a lot of series when I get my Series X. Forza Horizon 2 and Halo 4 (via MCC) to start with.

Well roughly £121 for 3 years of Game Pass ultimate sounds like a right steal! Just another quick question, I’m not planning on getting the 3 years (if I go for it) straight away, if I sub to GPU for a couple of months to see if its for me, I presume this won’t affect me taking advantage of the deal?

I don't think it does, but I could be wrong.

PS5 Pre-Ordered

Astro's Playroom
Sackboy A Big Adventure
Spider Man Miles Morales
Spider Man
Demons Souls

Tempted By (at some point)
Call Of Duty
Dirt 5
The Pathless
Assassin's Creed Valhalla
Watch Dogs Legion

PS4 - Owned and Saving For PS5

Ghost of Tsushima
Last Of Us 2
Death Stranding

Plenty there to be getting on with! :) But tempted to pick up Call Of Duty for the same reason as KK - play through it quickly and then sell on. Where are people pre-ordering from, out of curiosity?

Why buy a new console to play one or two games? I just don't get it.

And most of them don't need a new console to play on anyway!

Don’t do that! It’s a one-shot deal. Once you’ve joined GPU, the upgrade offer no longer applies. If you add a 12-month Gold sub after you’re already on GPU it only gets converted to 4 months of GPU.

PS5
Assassin's Creed Valhalla
Spider-Man Miles Morales
Sackboy A Big Adventure (depends on the reviews)
Crash Bandicoot 4

How about just Game Pass then? Rather than GPU? Does that still have the same implications?

You do realise more games will come out over the years, right? ;)

I'm not going to buy a console and twenty games all in one go. Two is more than enough to last me a couple of months, by which time, another game will be out. Hitman 3 in my case. I'm the opposite to you, I don't get people complaining that there aren't a dozen AAA games at launch, it's nonsensical.

No, that’s fine. It’s specifically the upgrade to Ultimate that triggers the offer. Any full months of Gold or regular Game Pass get converted.

I’ll just opt for Game Pass to start with then, thanks for the advice :)

Launch day releases:

Demon's Souls
Miles Morales
Watch Dogs: Legion (assuming the PS5 upgrade is out at launch
God of War & FF 15 on Plus Library

Got DMC5 PS5 preordered (think it's a few weeks after launch) and the new Destiny expansion on December 8th when the next gen patch is out. Will probably get the new COD at some point too since I loved Black Ops 1.

Nothing, they're all way overpriced.

Will just play Playroom stuff and then Hyrule Warriors the following day.

Maybe consider a Boomerang account.
Just get the 1 game at a time priority version at £11 a month to start with as you'll have 6 months of that for the cost of a single game.
