I have my first weekend without any proper plans in a while.

Likely to stay home writing and following the football. Next Wednesday, I'm travelling to Sheffield for the first time in my life to teach a 'masterclass' as Sheffield Hallam Uni, so I should prepare for that.

Best Bakery Section treat: Gingerbread Men.

No plans.

Best bakery section treat; custard doughnut, preferably the long 'hotdog bun' variety.

Today: It’s my nephews 5th birthday and I have to go to his party. 30 bloody kids will be there. :dread:

Tomorrow: Hopefully I don’t have to do anything.

Today: family meet up for my dad and sister's birthdays, will be great because my son had chickenpox at Christmas so I barely saw my side of the family at all over the festive break.

Tomorrow: going to a Blake exhibition at the Tate (birthday present for my wife) then meeting up with friends.

Bakery treat: I wouldn't say I had a favourite, but I had a toffee yum yum from Lidl yesterday and it was a bit of a revelation...

Friday: out with friends at Thai restaurant for wife’s birthday
Saturday: errands this morning-paint shop to buy paint, Apple store to fix phone, haircut...then home in time for afternoon of sport with six nations. Then wife’s parents for dinner tonight
Sunday: packing and moving stuff to new house

Will try and finish Until Dawn off at some point too-I’m on the last chapter.

Bakery section-I’m not a big desert person but I do like caramel shortbread

Friday - was up and out for various jobs between 7am-8pm, watched Picard and went to bed
Saturday - trying to get an old hard drive full of xbox saves fixed, doing some marking, then out for a friends' 30th
Sunday - dissertation marking, maybe a few rounds of something on the xbox, hang about with the wife and try to sort out what's happening with the dog for the next three-four weeks. Also plan out next week's classes.

Bakery section - Caramel Shortcake is a good shout, as are the packs of five cookies you can get.

I've had chocolate eclaires ruined for me by one I had in France that was so ridiculously nice that no others have ever come close to comparison.

Also WTF is a yum yum?

Friday was a lazy day. House clean, nap and excessive amounts of Netflix.

Today I've been for a wander round the west end of Glasgow. Coffee, dumplings and a waitrose top up. Going out out later with work pals who have been doing dry January. We've had a stressful couple of weeks preparing for inspection and doing the annual review paperwork so we're getting absolutely ratted.

Tomorrow will be dealing with a hangover before going back to work for three days.

Saturday - visited Durham, didn't know you now have to pay/donate to visit the cathedral. Had a nice coffee and cake and laughed at the length of the line outside of flat white cafe. Bloody hipsters. Currently watching The Relic.

Sunday - Mortal Kombat 11 and bacon sandwich.

Wish my image sig would work

Kind of like a doughnut but a different shape and not quite as doughy.
