Directors cut of Watchmen is excellent. The book is better especially the ending but for a comic book movie it's beautifully, shot, scored and edited. The ultimate cut has just been released which cuts in the animated movie too.

Wish my image sig would work

Of course I was. I couldn’t be arsed reading the synopsis of the comic as I’ve seen the movie.

Logan
The Dark Knight
Spiderverse/Spiderman 2 (idk which I prefer)

Sorry when was it accepted that spider man 2 was a good film? I seem to remember it being absolutely rubbish.

The Sam Raimi one was decent. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was shite.

It's difficult, but I'd go:

Logan
Dredd
Spiderverse
Infinity War
The Incredibles

Honourable mentions:
The Dark Knight
Joker (does this count?)
Batman Begins
Deadpool
Thor 3
Winter Soldier
GotG
Civil War

This is one I'll heavily dispute. Snyder's style is one that has never worked for me but I can accept that it's a difference of taste, however editing is another thing entirely. Much like Tarantino, Snyder is unbelievably indulgent and all of his films (but Watchmen especially) are pointlessly long, where he needs an editor who's not afraid to cut down on the reams of chaff padding out his films. The thought of director's cuts adding in MORE content is terrifying, what his films need is to be about 40 minutes shorter (okay I lie, they need way more than to simply be shorter).

Didn't Tarantino's editor /collaborator die? From his early days.

Sally Menke. Yes, she died in 2010, Inglourious Basterds being the last film of his she edited. To be fair, I don't really see much difference on a grander scale, given Tarantino's propensity for indulgence arguably hit its modern form from Kill Bill 1 onwards.

To try and wrangle this back to the subject (I'll have a think on my own top 5, having it specified as Superhero/Antihero limits the comic book adaptions though does open the doors for some that are obviously inspired), it would be interesting to see how much of Snyder's style is moulded by his consistent collaboration with Larry Fong as DoP (Dawn of the Dead and Justice League are the only features of his where Fong is not his DoP). I know JL went through reshoots and got Whedon'd, but all this bollocks chat about a 'Snyder Cut' is only of interest to me if it can showcase what Snyder sans Fong is like. For a point of reference for Fong's other work, he was recently DoP on Kong Skull Island.
