I agree with this. Capcom get a lot of gooseberry fool for porting Resident Evil to every console under the sun but IMO it’s not a problem, just means a wider potential audience for the game.
Ports are gooseberry fool, everything should be backwards compatible so I only have to buy a game once. strawberry float ports.
Ports to same gen consoles, not new ones. Resident Evil 2 from PS to Dreamcast to N64 for example. Backwards compatibility should be the standard.
Thats not so bad. Though normally 3rd larty games are developed with the other consoles in mind so its not the norm to need to port a game.from say Xbox 360 to PS3.
Not common but far from unheard of - Hotline: Miami was finally released to XBOX in April after quite a few years of exclusivity on the PS3. Same thing happened with the earlier Dead Rising games.
The Nintendo Switch, which is probably Nintendo's best ever console doesn't even come in my top 3 Nintendo consoles thanks to shoddy Joycons and 4 Animal Crossing save corruptions.
