Poor woman. For mine I got her a Ps3 bluray remote, a CD (I think) and took her out. I did preface it by saying I'd not known her long (only a month or so at the time and I don't think we were really doing more than seeing each other at that point).

My uncle once gave me an empty box file for christmas. I was about 9 and it was wrapped. When you see a big rectangular box wrapped like that, you get excited. When it turns out to be an actual box, well you die a little inside.

My brother once bought me a book for my birthday. It was book 3 in a series of 4 and I didn't have any of the other books.

It sounded interesting so I bought book 1 and 2 and was enjoying it, until I got to book 3 and found there were 50 pages missing from the middle.

Thanks bro!

That's a pretty good "bases covered" approach there - bluray remote is practical, CD is a solid addition and who can be offended by getting taken out!

I remember at the time not really being able to cover my confusion by it so she knew it wasn't exactly a home run and I think she just said she panicked and wasn't really sure what to get!

Which is fair enough I suppose as we hadn't known each other too long at that point. Although it was her birthday when we'd only been going out about a month and I absolutely nailed her first gift :datass:

A Big Mouth Billy Bass.

The charity shop received it very soon after.

A Friend of a friend recieved one of those packets of 4 muffins you get from Asda for like £1.

For her 40th Birthday

From her husband

who had obviously forgotton and bought it on his way home from work.

He had also eaten 2 of them in the car.

Probably shouldn't refer to your wife as "a friend of a friend", Albear

Right I've just found the exact items my parents got for me that Christmas. These are the exact ones:

Remember, that's almost immediately after not getting me anything for my 30th birthday.

It is a bit much, but they obviously wanted to make up for missing your birthday

I can't tell you exactly where they came from too, as there's this crap shop in Clark's village that has that kind of tat sat to the sides of the queue (it's primarily a book shop), so my dad was probably there buying loads of good stuff for my sister and went in there on the way out and grabbed the first gooseberry fool he saw.

I can't remember the last time I got an actual present from my parents - since I turned about 20 they tend to just give vouchers. For a while it was Cineworld vouchers, then they moved on to food ones (usually ASK Italian or Pizza Express) and recently it just tends to be an email with an Amazon voucher

Did you say thank you, Victor? I'd have dashed it in their faces.

Sorry, but I’m almost crying with laughter over Ad’s and Albear’s friends respective presents and gifts  I feel a little bad I won’t lie

I’ve not been bought anything that’s been awful, just stuff that I won’t really get round to using?
