I'd argue Fallen Order is still clunky control wise even on a dedicated controller!

It's quite fun though, I need to actually get round to finishing it off

I did the tutorial level on the train and then rocked up on this really boring looking planet with some weird crab(?) monster thing that I couldn't beat because dodging is nigh on impossible. I've never played any Dark Souls etc before so I don't know if I'm doing it wrong or I'm just gooseberry fool

That's possibly one of the "named monsters" which are harder than average, although thinking about it the one on that planet is more of a frog than a crab...

The dodging is a bit gooseberry fool in it that's true, the control and combat in general is very shonky compared to a Souls have

Seems I’ve got lucky with DS4 for windows. It’s been pretty faultless, apart from the quirk where you have to trick certain Xbox titles into thinking it’s a 360 pad by toggling ‘hide’.

Yeah, I spent 30 mins on that crab (toad) before doing other stuff. Turns out it’s very very difficult to beat straight off. The game wants you to come back for some tat in a chest, but barely worth it.

Decent game overall.

Love how artificial scarcity and having to preorder a circa £1000 product months in advance is now the norm.

Actually, no I don't.

Sadly this will be the defacto state of things till next year according to TSMC's investor call.

No chance of getting one of these. Bots have got these locked down, along with most of the other stock.

The next Humble Choice is giving away Metro Exodus, Hellpoint and Darksiders Genesis (and presumably 7 others).

If you get Exodus in the bundle, you'll get a free upgrade to the enhanced edition.

Only a 3060, needs a couple of tweaks, but stonking price.

What specs are people rocking nowadays? Friends are trying to coax me back into PC gaming but I'm so out of touch and my machine is so old. Just browsing around online to try and get an understanding of the current industry situation and all I can think is "I can't be arsed".

I used to be all about the PC but nowadays I just feel like it's too much faff and I prefer the ease of console gaming. I'm pretty sure my current PC is seven years old at this point though so it's not really fit for purpose anymore.

Just sucks, being geared up to take part in the group activity, to find that my hardware is kaput.

I do video editing so I went overboard on CPU and RAM, but for VR this is what I use.

CPU - Ryzen 9 3900X
RAM - 32GB DDR4
GPU - RTX 2060

Works great for me, haven't had really any issues running any games.

What's the next big thing pc users are thinking about?
Obviously, graphics cards and cpu's have just had a nice upgrade so maybe a return of the physX style dedicated card?

Nah, modern graphics cards (nvidia) have physx built in to the software as there is barley any overhead as they are that much more powerful.

Computex is on and the AMD presentation is tomorrow morning.

Rumours of the new AM5 socket as well as the next Threadripper. Hopefully some actual news on the new APU's.

DDR5 is round the corner, 2022/3.

12 volt only power supplies may be starting to be a thing which may have a large impact on motherboard sizes.

The new USB standard that could transfer 240W.

Sounds rather bland and very unsexy but I am interested in it.

My current specs

CPU - Intel i7 9700K
GPU - GeForce RTX 2060
RAM - 16GB DDR4
Storage: 1TB Samsung 970 EVO NVMe. I also have another 1TB SSD I haven't installed yet.

More than adequate for my needs.

It's mental how expensive GPUs are. Seems like the only way of getting anything reasonable, or even in stock, is to buy from a pre-build website.

strawberry float it, I'm done with this gooseberry fool. I'll just have to stick with seeing my friends IRL instead.
