Rumours are arising, based upon GameStop pre-order forms, that the game may also be available on PS4. Nothing has been mentioned about Switch yet and the feeling is that the franchise may not land on a Nintendo system until Switch 2 launches.

Edit: Hive mind thinking, MM!

As for why the image does not feature an Xbox One version, it’s understood that the Series S|X version is a cross-generation version, meaning it will also work on the Xbox One.

Think it sums up this Generation of consoles when we're 3 1/2 years into the cycle and new big titles are still launching on previous gen consoles...

Half of all Playstation players are on PS4, it makes sense to launch on both.

Still, pretty amazing that this will be released on the same console as Ghosts from 2013.

I think it could be that a big section of the gaming market is seeing current gen consoles at around £460 and games at £70 and thinking... hang on, I can still play great games on PS4 and get some fantastic deals on them from both retailers and the online store. The Pro model, in particular, remains a very capable system.

Of course, the PS5 has still sold very well indeed - perhaps more so considering those tough initial post-COVID years.

The PS5 is pretty much keeping track with the sales the PS4 saw over its lifetime if you align them so I don't think there is a big issue with the market moving gens, or at least, it's moving like it did last time.

I suspect this is more to do with the spiralling cost of game development meaning publishers are needing to squeeze out as many sales as possible and so are doing dual gen releases for longer.

Valerie Lee, Editorial Manager, Activision wrote:This will be signature Black Ops across a cinematic single-player Campaign, Multiplayer, and the epic return of Round-Based Zombies. Get ready for a mind-bending narrative and to go beyond the rules of engagement in all three modes. In Black Ops 6, you’re never sure who to trust and what’s real.

It’s the early ‘90s – a period of transition and upheaval in global politics, characterized by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower. While the Gulf War commands the global spotlight, a shadowy clandestine force has infiltrated the highest levels of the CIA, branding anyone who resists as traitors. Exiled from their agency and country that once hailed them as heroes, Black Ops veteran Frank Woods and his team find themselves hunted by the military machine that created them. They are forced to go rogue, partnering with the criminal underworld to stay one step ahead of their own corrupted government. They’ll do whatever it takes to bring down the real traitors and clear their names — even if that means crossing the same lines as their enemies. There is no going back.

Leading the development of the Black Ops 6 Campaign is Raven Software, and with this Campaign, their goal is to deliver more: an increased variety of mission structures, additional focus on player choice, and more options to finish each mission, with dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay throughout.

Treyarch is leaving no stone unturned in the development of both Multiplayer and Zombies. Many more details are coming later in the year on each of these modes but there are a few key things we can share now.

In Black Ops 6 Multiplayer, players will test their skills across 16 new maps at launch, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6. Many of these maps feature innovations on the classic three-lane map design, with quick time to engagement, and coming in the small to medium-sized range for the right amount of complexity. This allows for meaningful player choice, keeping the action flowing and the pacing optimal. A key point for Treyarch is that maps intentionally support gameplay variety.

Eurogamer wrote:Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will require a "continuous internet connection" - even when you're playing its campaign mode...

...the publisher advises that the Cold War-set shooter uses "texture streaming across all game modes".

Why does Call of Duty require the internet to stream textures? Activision's answer is two-fold, in that it allows "the highest-quality visuals" while also "reducing the game's overall storage space on your hard drive".

It seems Call of Duty's typically meaty hard drive footprints are at least partly to blame - and indeed, Xbox's store page for the game reveals Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's install size is an eye-watering 309.85 GB.

It’s insane. Especially when you remember the Series S only has 364GB of usable storage. (Though maybe the install will be smaller for that, as the highest res textures won’t be needed.)

And that 309.85GB is bound to increase with future updates.

BTW there's 4 seperate installs (MP, Campaign, Warzone, Zombies) so you can choose what to install/keep/delete from the 300GB.

I should never have even doubted you... it *IS* 214,583 disks :o . I detected that you were referring to classic 1.44 Mb PC disks.
