Slot. Lay the case done on its side with the window pointing up. Then try to get it flat and straigh and it should line up with the screw holes and the hdmi slots would be clear.
Yeah, it's really weird. I thought maybe the fact it's kind of resting on the fan might have something to do with it, but that's all the way on the other side of the case and shouldn't have that big of an effect on the back? I could move that fan to the other side so it's on the side where the pop-off front panel is. Airflow would be worse (probably?), but it would at least eliminate that as a potential cause of the issue and allow me to focus on other things.
The pci-e slots on the case are pretty small though, so maybe it's just an issue with the case?
Anyway, it's ddefinitely in the slot as the computer is now up and running (though I somehow managed to disconnect my HDD while putting it all together (which I think is where my keyboardd chattering fix startup app is located, because it's not running at the moment andd all these double inputs are driving me nuts!))
Edit: Played some Portal. Looks way nicer than I remember. Also seems somewhat more demanding than I remember. Weird. Anyway, back to my lo-fi 2D platformers and rhythm games at a totally unnecessary 1000fps or something.
(temps were good, getting to around 70°C at the highest)
