I imagine it might have been mentioned already but do consider getting in touch with Macmillan for support for you both as well.

I don't want to give any kind of false hope, but at the same time it might reassure you, just a tiny bit, that palliative doesn't always mean end-of-life care. That's how it's often used, but strictly it's about pain relief and how to cope with your condition, which it sounds like she very much needs. Don't tie yourself up in knots before they tell you for sure what the situation is.

Yea I'd also like to echo this, although they're often focused on the same thing, palliative care is not solely linked to terminal diagnoses.

So sorry for all you are going through. The fight you have to put up to get an appropriate level of care, attention and treatment in a hospital nowadays is genuinely terrifying. The system is broken beyond recognition.

22 hours in a strawberry floating chair. Can't get over that.

Macmillan are brilliant in Northern Ireland, I'd imagine it's the same in England. Reach out if you can, they will support you in a variety of ways.

I missed the call from the consultant yesterday by seconds, and couldn't use the number to call back, so hopefully I'll get to speak to them today

Hospital reception/switchboard should be able to put you through to the consultant's secretary, at least that's how it worked for us here when our son was ill. Hopefully your trust can do the same or similar.

I’m really sorry to read about this Ad, it must be terrifying for you both. Can only echo others’ kind words and advice in regards to Macmillan. We’re all here for you.

Just got back from a meeting with a consultant.

She's too weak for any treatment at the moment, but it wouldn't do much good at this point as it's too advanced.

Been told to get our house in order ASAP, and his description was he doesn't think it will be days or weeks, but quite soon.

Just strawberry floating numb at the moment. Flipping between breaking down and sitting in silence.
