Apparently he was in one of the debates, probably because Johnson couldn't be arsed so sent a junior colleague instead.

Only Oblomov remembers it though. He watches the video of it every night.

Sunak is taking staged questions from Tory councillors pretending to be normal workers by wearing hi-vis jackets. They are in an empty hall, not a construction site, so there is no reason for the hi-vis other than to deceive.

He'll back out of any debates.

I hope someone's keeping a record of all this.

1. Literally drenched in a public announcement that was hard to hear over a song associated with Labour
2. Asked Welsh people if they were looking forward to a tournament for which they didn't qualify
3. Caught taking staged questions from stooges

It's not even been 24 hours since the announcement  how long could this list grow??

It's being recorded in a book. And this volume only covers the first 6 hours.

I'll be curious to see the equivalent list of Starmer's blunders. They are inevitable, surely, given the pressure and level of scrutiny over the six weeks, and the right-wing-rag pounce will no doubt be infuriating, as they spend a week's worth of front pages covering him putting a hardhat on backwards, while ignoring Sunak calling someone's grandmother a banana split.

Angela Rayner has probably already got at least ten cameras with ultra-long zoom focused on her.

It'll be interesting to see which way the Murdoch rags swing. He's always prided himself on picking the winner ("the Sun wot won it!") after all.

Fully expect The Sun to hop over to Labour soon like they did in 97.

Private Eye has recently been documenting their slow transition to supporting Labour. It's probably going to ramp up now the election date is known.

Yeah they're not going to want to back a loser - given the polls as is they'll switch to the near certain winner and then claim they were instrumental in the victory.

Nothing is too cringeworthy when you have no shame.

Have the Tories actually got enough people to run in every seat? They are going to have to really quickly get some candidates up and running.

Amusement under late capitalism is the prolongation of work.

It'll be hilarious if the Tories only get 40 seats, but only because they couldn't find anybody to stand in the other constituencies.

It is as if they have become a toxic brand. No one wants any kind of association.

Sturgeon's husband. Would Police Scotland avoid charging Sturgeon when Purdah comes into effect?

Neither of them are MPs and she's not the leader of the SNP. Purdah shouldn't apply.

They were something like 150 candidates short when the election was announced. At the same time, Greens had about 95% of their candidates selected with the aim to have a candidate in every seat for the first time ever.
