Also just about every product design episode of the Apprentice.

Anyone maybe.
Obvious to Chris Grayling though?
Presumably the 800k was for more than the single contract check. I think they awarded three at the same time, so that should be wrapped up in that payment at least.

But he actually literally punched Hitler in the gob and won WW2 for us, he is literally the greatest ever living Briton who is now dead God rest his literal soul which has probably got "Made in Great Britain" on it, you snowflake banana split.
I think that was the day I realised I didn’t belong in my family, I was 17 and came out with “You know, other than WW2 Churchill was a dick” I was asked to leave the Christmas dinner table at this point.

Imagine being a Labour MP and having this gaudy nic-nac of a man who ordered the shooting of striking miners unironically on display.

Britain needs to have a serious introspection about our colonial past, and the harm we've done to the world, and soon. Discussion like this shouldn't be swept under the rug just because it's not going to play well in the S*n.

Maybe but I don't think the majority of the electorate would be interested in that conversation. Maybe in a decade or two.
It's almost like all people are complex and flawed and deserving of nuanced characterisation, rather than being venerated or vilified in overly simplistic statements that are easy to make headlines out of.
Churchill was both a bit contemptible (especially in hindsight with modern standards) and also an effective war time leader. He is neither hero or villain.
You'd think a politician would be a bit more aware of how calling him a villain is going to play in both the press and with the general public though.

To be more serious, Churchill is a complex character in history. He was undoubtedly a twat – a racist, a colonialist, very reckless and mostly downright nasty. But I also am not convinced that WW2 would have been won without him. He gets credit for that in my book, but he isn’t somebody that deserves hero worship for anything else he did.
