Will backwards compatibility affect your next-gen console purchase?

I'm going to get a PS5 because of it. I don't own a PS4 or a PS3, so it would be brilliant if this had both.

I'd like BC because it's getting to be a hassle to juggle everything. It's not a deal breaker, though, as I would still have my PS3 and 4, but if 5 is true BC, at least across digital stores including PSP and vita, that would go a long way to improving it.

With the PS5 being backwards compatible, the only affect that has on my purchase is that I'd have no reservations purchasing one ASAP. If not for BC I'd usually wait a year or two before taking the dive.

I'm not investing in the next generation, (at least for a while, probably when PS5 Pro is announced), but if and when I do then no BC wouldn't effect my decision simply because I now keep all my previous platforms.

Backwards Compatibility won't affect my next-gen console purchase because as things stand I have all my old systems hooked up anyway and generally play through them for authenticity's sake, unless it provides a real performance boost (like playing OG Xbox Games and Xbox 360 games on the One X). It is a nice bonus though.
