It’s more how long it took for one roll of the slot machine and then that they laser it possible from their shiney new vendor to get just the old gooseberry fool.
They’ve put a new pulse rifle in that gains damage as fires rather than as hits. It’s going well in pvp
I’m conflicted about the new content. The most notable of these new features they’ve patched in, - specifically, buying engrams for shards and heroic strikes - are just things that should arguably have been in there from the start. The steady drip of stronger loot is undeniably satisfying, but where do you go with it? The raid? Awful things. Super-hard nightfall? Ugh. I’ll probably do the missions and a bit mooching about the new area but I can’t see myself spending a huge amount of time on it. I think - if Anthem ends up being all that - Destiny could be in trouble in the not too distant future.
The story for this DLC was kind of just there. A couple of glimpses of new landscapes, and some cool imagery, but ultimately most of the gameplay was pretty forgettable. A lot of fighting the vex/fallen/hive/cabal on cubes to open the door to more cubes. And I've lost count of the amount of times the game has pulled the "boss at the start of the level that you have to chase" trick now. Usually results in a wasted Ult.
When you finish it, there's a cool region crate that needs you to solve a puzzle to get at, and I'd like to see more of that stuff.
I guess the real draw is the new gear, cosmetics and modes. It's pleasing to be levelling up and making progress faster than a trickle again, even though I know in my brain it's a hollow enjoyment.
Just done the Pyramidion mission. Seems alright so far. That assault rifle you can chose from Ikora after one of the missions seems pretty great.
Haven't had any new exotics drop yet but I've seen on reddit there's another bunch of D1 armour ones been added (included Helm of Saint-14 ) I see there's a hand cannon version of Read Death for some reason. Would have been nice if they just added the D1 version since that's pretty much my favourite weapon ever.
They really should have player test realms or something before a big update like this. I'm not expecting the bit in the weekly update to be anything more than a snarky "WHOOPS! These things happen! Hotfix next reset!"
Don't think I've ever seen the Destiny subreddit as bad as it is now. It's been really down on everything since the first Osiris stream. Would love it if they did another stream with Gothaion again
All the replies to this pleading with them not to nerf it because it's fun. Sure, it's fun on one end of it, but that looks horrendous for everyone else.
I'm slowly making my way through the campaign, so not touched the pvp yet, anyway. It's good fun so far. Really satisfying gun play, and the Levens look amazing, running at a smooth 60fps.it's just a shame that there's no opportunity to interact with the environment at all, and no incentive to explore. You'd think a game that's put so much effort into level design and lore would actually want you to spend some time exploring the world rather than just sprinting through it.
I'm still not sure I really get the difference between the weapon types. Power weapons are obviously "powerful" like grenade launchers, but kinetic and power weapons seem to be the same types, just one is arbitrarily better against shields because energy. Because the game pushes you to equip the most powerful in your inventory at all times, I sometimes find myself with two single shot weapons equipped at once, and struggling against large groups of enemies without switching back down to a lower power weapon, reducing my overall power level.

If you're talking about gearing up - what level drops are at is based on your highest possible power, not your equipped power. So you can ignore that push
The last boss in the DLC was really cool, much better than the one in the main game.
I see some people on reddit are getting refunds for the digital base game because the DLC raised the required power level of the prestige raid and stuff and you need to do that for one of the achievements and to get that exotic shotgun. You're locked out of that without buying the DLC.
