Rather than spending 2 hours on the phone to your local hospital and achieving nothing, here is an alternative place to uselessly discuss all of the things that are wrong with being ill, old and generally broken, and it's somebody else's fault, and they should do something about it, but until they do, we can facilitate a fractionally more conscientious space to cope with that.*

*GRcade cannot be used or relied upon in any way for medical advice and if you do that you should turn off the Internet immediately and walk/drive/helicopter to your nearest NHS facility. GRcade cannot replace or supplant the fundamental aspects of being human.**

**Please be aware chatGPT may be trained on your posts in this topic but you can in the next version go and talk to it about your problems for some kind of therapeutic listening proxy experience while you wait 14 years for a referral to you local hospital's neurologist, despite literally living a few miles away, or similar***

***Based on a true story.

GRcade is a registered Therapeutic Listening Proxy Experience in collaboration with chatGPT, with company number 012345 and SIC 99999 (pointless company), registered 4 doors down from a GP in a similar building, whilst simultaneously located at 2 Rue Kellermann, 59100 Roubaix, France. Any correspondence received at these locations will be immediately dumped in the French channel to find it's way eventually to the appropriate authorised representative, which may or may not be in advance of your appointment or referral with your local treatment facility.

Thank you for using GRcade.

Recently Ive had sweaty palms, weak knees, arms heavy and some nausea....

Also last week I forgot about my doctor.

Last night I vomitted up my supper all over my jumper, my Italian mother was not happy.

We'd talked about feet before and I had said how shite mine at present. I'm not overweight, I get enough exercise. Sometimes I feel like that's the problem, she always drags me out places and we walk a strawberry float lot

Got some insoles and they are a bit better. So I would recommend them if someone starts to have problems.

I think it sounds like it's an anxiety problem.

You sound nervous, but I bet you're actually quite calm and ready.
You should try just losing yourself in music, or the moment.

Word of warning that you can only attempt this procedure once. It's also NHS policy that you mustn't miss your appointment, and due to extremely high pressure on the service they will never reschedule you for it if you do.

Shall I kick this off with a minor owwie?

For the past week I've had a weird elbow thing. It's absolutely fine 99% of the time, but when I lean on it in a very specific way (for instance leaning on a desk at work) I get a shooting pain in my elbow. It's calmed down a bit over the past few days but on Friday and Saturday it was a good 8-9 on my pain scale when I triggered it. There was some minor swelling. No recent trauma etc. I spoke to someone I train with - he said it's tennis elbow because I've been doing sword work at Ju-Jitsu which has a lot of repetitive movements. Does that sound consistent to other people?

Ah man, I remember reading about his… “antics” back in the day. His fate was no surprise. Still, a legend.

But no, I don’t want no doctor to stick no needle in me.

My right shoulder is in agony from mousing (as I spend forever in Adobe Illustrator clicking) so I built this in about 5 minutes from an old Perspex kitchen knife stand I broke down as we were going to throw it away, a tiny ledge/shelf I made from two pieces of plywood for an exhibition ages ago (also scrap), two clamps and two screws.

Mouse tracks on this fine but happens to be the same size as my Everglide matt I've had for 13 years. Didn't cut the acrylic but the notch is handy :)

Never waste the pain. It's very sturdy and works well lol. Everything on amazon is either gooseberry fool or not something I can pay for in case it is pants at the moment. Looked at some Startech stuff, might be OK. Anyone else done crazy ergonomic adjustments?

I'm looking at adjustable / slide-out under desk KB&M shelves and wrist supports so wondering if anyone working a lot with mice would recommend anything. I could switch to my tablet too but the keyboard has to be out of the way and I'm constantly switching. I already have a really good full heigh mechanical keyboard (cherry red switches).

A couple of weeks ago, I bit my tongue (while asleep) so badly that it left a tooth mark. It’s still sore, and I’ve just looked and the hole is still there, now surrounded by a white ridge. Doesn’t really seem to be healing at all. Not going to waste the doctor’s time with it, but I’ll keep an eye on it. If it goes black or green or any other colour, I’ll get it checked out.

I once bit my tongue so bad I had 3 teeth marks in it.

Some 3 or 4 millimetre deep so would open up like you would expect having just cut into a steak or something. I think another time I managed to do that with my canine and it was literally a rip gash about 2cm long.

It will heal from the inside out, hence you won't see anything for a while. But because of the culture of your mouth, it'll be all but sterile for as long as your mouth isn't dry. The white ridge is effectively a scab but one that is constantly moist so appears white, just dead skin cells to create a barrier. It'll be healing at the bottom.

Swill with saline solution, mouthwash, vodka/whiskey if you're concerned or even just warm water. As I do this from time to time and bite my mouth/lips due to anxiety or whatever I had some mouth ulcer gel form Boots but you can use anything like that, I found the mild antiseptic will clean it, the gel creates a barrier and seems to promote healing.

I guess there's a risk it might heal similarly to a scar, non uniformally, but I kind of doubt that. Maybe you would get a stitch.

Thank you for using GPcade.

Also, my shoulder rotator cuff/bursa/RSI is utterly strawberry floated so now I'm looking at multiple different kinds of mice and trackpads because not working is a gooseberry fool option at the moment, Google basically said get a different job, lol thanks.

Thanks for that. It’s reassuring. The pain is minor, and it doesn’t look infected, so I’ll put up with it.

Sorry to hear about what you’re going through. That sounds horrendous.

I somehow didn't mention it healed completely and I don't think there's any marks. I mean, as far as you can tell on a fleshy blob appendage.

Thanks, hope I'll be on the mend eventually. I've been trying to get more rest despite my entire life basically falling apart around me requiring me to earn spectacularly more money with the exact same resources, this does not help. Also it means for every hour I spend dicking around with a mouse or keyboard doing unproductive things I get pain for that anyway so kind of convinces me it's not just waste of time but a waste of pain.

Never waste the pain.
