Some trailers tell a little story. This one has footage from lots of different scenes scattered throughout. For example, it's obvious most of the Leo footage is from one scene and it's spliced in at the start, the middle and end. Makes for one very confusing trailer.

A good trailer, like the one for Prometheus, tends to have a clear build up. But then Tarrantino's storytelling is never really linear anyway. Just my two cents.

I thought it might be that. See, I disagree, I hate it when a trailer focuses too much on the story. I want to see the story played out in the cinema, not shown to me in a 3 minute chunk. A trailer, imo, is there to get you excited about seeing a product which that trailer does in spades

I tend to prefer a more random selection of clips from the film (e.g. 'A good day to die hard' trailer) which gives you a taste for the film without blatantly laying out the story for you like the final 'Dark Knight Rises' trailer did (still regret watching that).

I guess you're right as well. It still felt messy though, for me the perfect trailer was that Girl With the Dragon Tattoo last year.

As rubbish as the film turned out I thought Taken 2's trailer was a brilliant portrayal of how to advertise a movie. A quick setup of story and then straight into the action

Can Ryan Gosling actually act? I can't decide (based almost entirely on Drive) whether he's really rather good or completely wooden.

Go watch Half Nelson, he's brilliant in that

Speaking of 'Drive'

Ryan Gosling's enigmatic character from Drive could make an appearance in another film.

In the 2011 car-chase movie from director Nicolas Winding Refn, Gosling plays a character known only as "The Driver". Gosling's hero works as a mechanic and part-time movie stuntman but has a secret job as a getaway driver. You can watch the film's trailer below.

The 1980s-influenced Drive performed well at the box office, grossing over $76 million (Ā£47 million) worldwide from a modest $15 million (Ā£9 million) budget, and has become a cult favourite. When asked about a possible sequel, Winding Refn told the Evening Standard: "That is never going to happen."

However, he revealed that film fans may not have seen the last of Gosling's popular hero, saying: "But the character of The Driver might return in another film. We're playing with that idea. We'll see what happens."

Meanwhile, Gosling and Winding Refn recently teamed up again for a new movie called Only God Forgives. Set in Bangkok, it stars Gosling as the owner of a boxing club that acts as a front for his family's drug smuggling business. The film also stars Kristin Scott Thomas and is scheduled for release next March (2013)

Never wanted a sequel to Driver but liking the sound of this idea

Great last line. Tonally very similar to Frost vs. Nixon, which can only be a good thing.

Trailer is messy as hell, but it's got me more hyped than the first. DiCaprio is brilliant.

DiCaprio's face at 0.31

Wait they've got a release date this far in advance when it's that far away? Why bother?

I'm sure I remember the VHS release of A Bug's Life having a teaser trailer for Monsters Inc, with a release date of what had to be four years from then.

Hugo Weaving Doesn't Want To Play Red Skull Again

Hugo Weaving isnā€™t overwhelmingly excited to tackle the role of Red Skull at any point in the near future, according to Comic Book Resources. Although thereā€™s always the possibility that the character could pop back up in a Captain America or Avengers sequel, Weaving doesnā€™t think this will be the case.

ā€œI think the tendency, with those films, would be to probably not bring a villain back. They might for ā€˜The Avengers,ā€™ but I didnā€™t think Iā€™d be in ā€˜Captain America 2ā€² or ā€™3.ā€™ I donā€™t think Red Skull will be there,ā€ Weaving said. ā€œAnd itā€™s not something I would want to do again,ā€ he actor explained.

Hugo Weaving is currently attached to a number of high-profile franchises, including The Hobbit, Happy Feet, and Transformers, the latter of which finds the Australian actor lending his voice to the role of Megatron.

Although the actor isnā€™t interested in returning to the Marvel universe as Red Skull, he explained that he holds no ill will towards Captain America or the studio that produced the motion picture.

ā€œI did sign up for a number of pictures and I suppose, contractually, I would be obliged to, if they forced me to, but they wouldnā€™t want to force someone to do it, if they didnā€™t want to,ā€ Weaving said. ā€œI think Iā€™ve done my dash with that sort of film. It was good to do it and try it out, but to be honest, itā€™s not the sort of film I seek out and really am excited by. As an actor, to do all sorts of different films is great. It stretches you in different ways. But, I increasingly like to go back to what I used to always do, which is to get involved with projects that I really have a personal affiliation with.ā€

Outside of Cloud Atlas and The Hobbit trilogy, Hugo Weaving is slated to appear in director Ivan Senā€™s Australian thriller Mystery Road and Craig Monahanā€™s 2014 drama Healing.
