I've never posted a topic on it? I entered this thread as I was curious to what people were saying. This being a forum for discussion and all. Just because I believe launch statistics don't paint as much of an impression of demand as some people believe, doesn't mean I should completely disregard anything on that topic, does it?
I didn't say you did, just saying if everyone had that view no one would create such a topic. If people aren't interested in sales, just ignore the topic.
Erm, you did? "...why bother posting a topic at all." I'm guessing mistakenly then. And you're completely missing the point. I
am interested in sales. I'm often present in sales topics. I was merely pointing out the first 24 hours that you are so looking forward to compare is likely more an indication of supply rather than demand.
Look at the PS3 for example. We didn't get a 24 hour sales tally in those days, but it was the second biggest console launch in UK history (at the time). In the grand scheme of things it meant little, plenty of consoles lifetime sales still surpass it in the UK, including the Xbox 360, which had lower launch sales, but also a smaller supply of consoles. Just because the supply wasn't there, doesn't mean the demand wasn't there. Both sold out in the UK.
The Xbox One will undoubtedly sell out. For me, it will be far more interesting to see figures when supply for both consoles meet demand, and consoles are readily available. I think any comparisons within a 24 hour period are redundant because they're more a comparison of supply, of who can make the most. That doesn't mean I'm not interested in sales.
