Robert Bowling, previously a creative strategist but now president of the development studio Robotoki, knows how to build buzz for a game. It hasn't been more than 3 months since Robotoki was founded, and here Bowling is announcing his first game. Introducint Human Element, a zombie apocalypse game coming in 2015 for next-gen consoles, tablets and mobile. After all, why wait for news to be leaked and all of his fun to be ruined?
Why another zombie game, Robert Bowling? Bowling claims there's no greater conflict than a zombie apocalypse -- the perfect setting for his studio's debut game:
“Their greatest strength is the fear that [zombies] instill in us, the survivors, that unreasonable fear. Unreasonable fear that leads us to do unreasonable things to survive."
Bowling even has a few details on how his zombie game will play out. You'll be able to pick a character from three different classes, action, stealth and intelligence, with three different identities, surviving alone, surviving with a partner, and surviving with a child.
“How you choose to start in the world will determine how you can engage and impacts the scenarios you will be presented with on a physical and morality level.”
More details on Robert Bowling's games are sure to be revealed in the, uh, next three years. Seriously, this guy knows how to maximize the visibility of a game, and you can expect him to keep fans excited the whole long way until the game is released.
Speaking of release, the game was announced not only for next gen consoles, but for mobile and tablets. We're curious to see what sort of network Robotoki has planned for Human Element's universe. Expect more news in Game Informer's July issue, which has a 4-page article on Human Element.
