I agree with the "don't get gooseberry fool faced" advice - I've seen some friends go way too far on the drink on their wedding day and have massively regretted it. It can be hilarious to watch a train wreck of a wedding if it isn't someone you are close to though!

I don't think I drank anything on my wedding day if I recall rightly, was too busy just enjoying seeing everyone and taking in the moment.
My best advice would be to make sure you've got a great bunch of supportive folks around you - people happy to roll up sleeves if necessary. Obviously everyone plans their wedding and tries to get everything lined up to run perfectly, but there's always something that causes an issue and it's great to have people who will jump in and help sort stuff so you don't have to be the only one worrying! We had the odd thing that fell apart on the day or the night before and it was great to have close friends to help!
