I think size might have been a factor there.

Loving playing AW again. So much more to take in. I think this is my game of this gen actually. So much better than so much derivative bilge that devs spew out. Far better writing than most games too.

I'm def going to Brer, just wanted to wait for a steam sale having bought it once already.

So tempted to see the nicer visuals sooner though.

Oh hey guys: Alan Wake's American Nightmare comes out May 22nd on PC

In celebration of the impending launch, Remedy is offering gamers a motherload of discounts on Alan Wake. Pre-orders of American Nightmare on Steam or GOG will receive 10% off their purchase. For purchasers of the original Alan Wake, an additional 15% off is available! Alan Wake is now part of Steam’s Midweek Madness (only 72 hours!) available at 50% off. This offer is also available on GOG.

 That was fast! Pre-purchased on steam (with the lovely extra discount for owners of the original ), even bought the collectors edition stuff DLC for the original game as it's reduced. Remedy are my new favourite PC dev

Debating getting this and the original from GOG (the bundle would work out at $26.23 or approximately £16.24 (Steam's price with the Collector's Edition with all of the extras: £22.48), with the disadvantage being no soundtrack and no Steamworks.

The soundtrack should be widely available from *ahem* less legitimate sources - it was included on the 360 version too, so it should be widely disseminated by now.

It's also not impossible that GOG may add it later. They have a tendency to "add" extras to games after the fact.

I'm sure GoG one has Steamworks? Or am I thinking of Greenman gaming?

Wouldn't surprise me if it doesn't. Steamworks is considered DRM by some, and "no DRM" is one of GOG's big selling points.

Ah, makes sense. It's on deal @ Steam anyway, at £11.49, or £13.49 for limited edition. If you also have this, you can save 15% on American Nightmare @ Steam :)

You're thinking of Greenman. GOG is the first retailer to sell Alan Wake without Steamworks. Incidentally, even with the offers GOG is still cheaper by a couple of quid.

On Alan Wake’s official FB page, Remedy has revealed that it will be sharing more greater news about what they’ve been up to. The intereting part here is that this hint was shared on Alan Wake’s FB page, suggesting that Remedy has been working on something new about it.

Moreover, Alan Wake’s and Max Payne’s writer, Sam Lake, has also unveiled that Remedy will be revealing this year what they’ve been up to all this time.

And finished AW:AN. Good little package (especially for what I paid for it), but I miss the coherent and absorbing setting of AW. It was never as tense or scary either, despite combat being much better.

The story, while short, is tighter and less confuddling - with Mr Scratch stealing the show at his every appearence. The astronomer woman though is the worst voice acting I've ever heard.

I'm not sure about the ending - but I'm guessing they put it in so that there is a "sort of" ending if they don't get an AW2.

As a bolt on to AW it's good fun (and more rewarding IMO than the DLC), but overall AW is the stronger experience. Glad I played it though, and if I were the sort to play Horde Modes alot the Arcade Action looks amazing.
