That interview is from 2017.
Fair enough, I guess I should have noticed that!
In September 2017, it was still a strawberry floating stupid thing to say. In what way should we have been "just getting on with it"? If anything we were going at an unreasonably quick pace, we had triggered Article 50 in March while still not having a cross-parliament agreement on what Brexit should look like. Since then we'd had a general election which waylaid us---this was Theresa May playing games, nothing to do with Remoaners or whatever---but there had still been three rounds of Brexit talks, we were just about to have a fourth. So I have no idea what "just getting on with it" could possibly mean in this context.
And in what way was anyone trying to ignore the vote, particularly at that time? People's Vote didn't launch 'til 2018. Was he just ranting about people who thought the negotiations weren't going well? I think it was around September 2017 that people started to seriously see the Irish border as a problem, in his head was this a Remoaner conspiracy? It turned out to be pretty important.
Ringo Starr is a dickhead in 2019 or 2017.
(EDIT: I'm annoyed at him, not you, just in case that's not clear!)
