I have worked out how to pull up console commands on my PC, so i have managed to get past a game breaking bug on Hypnospace Outlaw :toot:
This game gets really tough. Amazing though.
This will absolutely be the last time i use my PC for.... anything though. It's absolutely bollocks.

Doom 64 is really strawberry floating good. I'm on level 17. Keeps going the way it's going and this will be the best classic Doom game easily.

It's a bit too puzzly for my liking, and obscure puzzles at that. (stand in a certain spot and door opens 2 rooms away).

The first few levels feel like that, but I'm on the second part of the game and it is way better in this regard. Some of the level designs have been well thought out, and it cuts down the tedium of getting stuck.

It looks fantastic-the lighting effects are incredible on Switch, I can't imagine how good this looks on a Series X. And the music is setting the atmosphere perfectly. Early impressions were good but there's clearly a lot more to go so will be interesting to see how that develops. Side quests and NPCs are a nice touch too, help make exploring that much more rewarding.

I have been meaning to start this for months now on my One X. Given the complaints i have heard about frame rates etc i think i will wait until i receive my Series X and see if it is smoother. Might be a nice game to play around Xmas.

It's been Patched, it's now a locked 60fps/4K on X1X with HDR, of course the Series X will be 120fps/4K.

It's glorious, but, I enjoyed the first hour of Will of the Wisps so much, I've gone back to the first one and I'm trying to finish that first and now kinda waiting for it to get the Series X back compat HDR added. :fp:

Devil may cry 5 - PS4 - went back to this and working through the next difficulty level. It's not too bad and the amount of enemies sometimes makes high scores easier. Bosses do hit a lot harder though. Such a great game and one I'll be getting on PS5 at launch.

Hades - switch lite - still chipping away and enjoying it more as I try different weapons. Feels like the perfect Switch game as each encounter is so short you can easily play for 2 minutes or 2 hours. Easy to save and quit and the constant little bits of progression make it very rewarding.

Wish my image sig would work

Hades.

New record of 21 minutes with the god hands :D Had a blast doing the run, too. I opted for the Daedalus ability which causes the special to additionally hit for 90 upon landing. Then piled crits, special crits, special speed increase and various other boons. The end result was I absolutely pummelled the king and the bull and managed to keep all Death Defiances for the final boss! Everything just melted away as I hit it.

Stranger Things 3. I really did not expect to like it, but found myself with an hour to try a new game last night and ended up playing it for double that.

It feels like a proper reimagining of a SNES game, and that, coupled with the Halloween vibe as the weather starts to draw in, is making it feel like a very cosy little game.

Its been piss easy so far mind, although im actually hoping it stays that way.

Played 2 hours of Minerva's Den this morning and was absolutely loving it. Then the PS4 crashed and I discovered that Minerva's Den doesn't autosave :|

Now I need to decide whether to start it from scratch, manually saving every ten minutes, or just leave it :(

Great stuff, IM. I played a little bit of the game on PS3 and the atmosphere was so dang creepy. I hope to return to it even though I'm not usually one for horror games. Have you tried the second and third titles? Opinion varies widely on those!

That's a pain, Zinad... maybe, as you were enjoying it so much, it could be worth replaying and doing manual saves?

Hi James, yes, I think I probably will start it again. The story was so intriguing and I want to see it through. Here's hoping I have better luck next time!

Might play Infinite again before the PS5 comes out.

That's a shame, Minerva's Den is great as well! Don't play Infinite again, it's terrible.

I've been playing quite a bit of Horizon Zero Dawn on my my PS4 Pro lately, it took me a while to get into it and I was fairly underwhelmed at first but it has really got its claws into me now! None of the issues I had with it have gone away necessarily, the story and characters are dull, the writing is terrible, the quests are trite etc. - but the things it does do well like combat, exploration and dynamic/emergent encounters it does really, really well! I think I'm at a real sweet spot in terms of levels and equipment which means that taking down big machines is still very challenging but achievable and the sense of satisfaction when defeating one is immense. I've had some great battles against the larger machines that have spilled across into the path of roaming bandits, friendly hunters or other machines and it has been genuinely epic to play out these encounters - mixing up tactics and equipment depending on who is currently presenting the biggest threat etc.

Also on recommendation of OrangeRKN I picked up Alwa's Awakening last night and put a quick hour or so into it. So far it seems like a great little game, it's giving me serious late 80s Amiga vibes as well - which is a good thing! :toot:

I may have to look in to this.
