Cyberpunk 2077 - MASSIVE 2.0 Update out NOW

I don't know why they are lifting the embargo so close to release. We already have impressions from reviewers who have played it for hours on end and it is reportedly very good, albeit much slower and less action-packed than the trailers lead you to believe (I mean, obviously, they are trailers, it's their purpose to excite in a limit space of time). RDR 2 had its embargo released just before release and it received some of the best reviews that year.

I think there is a marketing reason for cutting it so close. There is a certain logic that if you have a review saying "this is great, go buy it right now" it might be more beneficial than one saying "this is great, go buy it in a week or two". The former is more likely to result in sales.

I like how at the start of your post you don't know why they cutting the embargo so close to release but at the end of your post you do

Argh, this comes out 2 days after my birthday - my plan is still to get this on PS5 when I eventually get that console and enjoy it in the next generation as that's where it'll really shine, but it's still going to be sorely tempting to try it on my OG launch PS4.

I can only imagine how loud the fan will get :slol:

Heads up for those looking to get for Xboxes.... the digital £49.99 version will earn you 6000 MS reward points if you activate the punch card first on your Rewards app.

It's open for a few weeks (cant recall exact date but takes us at least 2 weeks past the 10 Dec launch date). I'm building up my rewards total as much as I can to potentially put towards this to reduce cost. Got 21k (almost £20 worth) at the mo

Cheers for pointing this out. Only this morning I inputted my digital code. thankfully on the Rewards section on the Series X it allowed me to punch the card afterwards and auto get the 6,000 points which is nice.

No worries. I’m loving Rewards, but annoyed I didn’t know about them till a few months ago.

Oh well, I know now and ensure I do as many daily, weekly and monthly activities as I can to maximise my points return

More leaked footage, this time apparently from a base PS4

It looks...ok but with issues. Muddy textures and just very low rez looking. There's also a 3 minute loading screen at one point. HOWEVER it's probably pre-patch gameplay. Obvs.

It doesn’t look very high speed that chase and the frame rate looks low. No real traffic either. Not a great video.

I have a feeling this will just pass being playable on PS4 and Xbox One but being more optimised for PS5, Series X and PC.

You see some of the official gameplay videos and you can't help but think they're properly pushing those last-gen consoles to the absolute limit and things like load times are going to take the brunt of it.

Hopefully that day 1 patch fixes the annoying bit where Jackie's hands don't turn the steering wheel when they turn right at the junction :lol:

Think preload is starting on the 8th December. Hoping it downloads overnight on my Xbox so it's ready to go at 12am on Dec 10th

That's VERY late compared to most Xbox games.... A patch just the day before is standard but in the past I've usually had most of the game downloaded 2weeks out...

The crash at the end of the car chase is legit hilarious. Compare that slow paced *clonk* into a wall at 1.10 to the particle spewing smash at 6.30 here:

Again, the leaked footage is clearly the unfinished, pre-patched version but still.

My hype is gradually returning for this, to the point where I was considering booking the day off in order to play it. :toot:

Just got sent an all day meeting request for the 10th with a client that cannot in any way be avoided or rearranged. Damn you 2020!
