Ok, but Square have one of the most talented localisation teams in the biz. It’s hard to imagine how there wasn’t any internal concerns raised early enough to take action on.
It’s probably more accurate of them to say the Western fantasy media they were influenced by is typically all-white, rather than trying to say they were just ensuring their make-believe world is true to medieval Europe. Even if that was true, it’s a fantasy world, mate, you can do whatever you want! There is no authenticity to adhere to when it’s all made up!
