Chris, man, you work quickly! .

I only posted that as a jape, by the way. I won't literally be doing Francois' Amico fanboy dance.

I might do it in my head, though.

We're under four months away from the Amico launch - 2 April 2021 - and I'm getting a little apprehensive about it. Intellivision are a small company and don't have the backing to splash out on much advertising but I am concerned at how quiet things are.

I guess that we probably won't see too much until the new year but it feels like general awareness is low; to be honest, almost non-existent. There are some positives - the games that are in development and the fact that Amazon and GAME have the system up for pre-order (albeit seemingly only the white model) - but there seems little doubt that there isn't too much buzz; even online the fans seem to be very small in number.

There are big pluses for the console in terms of game cost and the potential of the new controllers but we probably need far more momentum if it is to find it's feet in the gaming marketplace.

You guys! There are some fun-looking games in development but things have gotten a little quiet recently. I'd love to see the system succeed but I do feel that far more general awareness will be needed for it to become a success.

Gonna be honest; I am gonna be listening in to the Tommy Tallarico (Intellivision CEO) Ask-Me-Anything at 21:00 on YouTube... and I may have just pre-ordered the console on Amazon :shifty: .

I don't have the money at the moment but, with no payment until launch, I just wanted to show my belief in the idea behind the console :toot: .

I don't mean to put you off or anything. If you're looking forward to it, then I hope you get what you want from it.

But it's going to crash and burn so strawberry floating hard.

I just listened to that "Ask Me Anything" with Tommy Tallarico and it's sounding like the launch date could be moved from the current April target to maybe July or August. TT indicated that COVID and the current California lockdown is delaying some development/build aspects; the April date is "50/50" achievable but my inference was that the summer seems more likely.

Imagine the bewildered and crushing disappointment some unlucky children will face when they get one of these as a birthday present because their naive parents were talked into buying one.

Don't waste your money, jawa, this thing will be dead on arrival.

I cancelled my console preorder whilst GR was down.

I gotta be realistic in that whilst I love the idea of the system and hope that it will be successful, I will wait for more launch details before I decide whether to jump aboard.

Proud of you, Jawa. Admitting it is the first step.

I do feel a bit kinda... sad that I'm not backing the project :( . But, hey, it looks like the console will have a summer launch so there's nothing to stop me taking another look at that time.
