I know teasers aren't meant to reveal much but strawberry floating hell that was pointless.

I have literally no idea what that is.

Interesting. I am not a big comic book nerd however I had heard of semi-obscure characters like Daredevil and Luke Cage before. Never heard of Jessica Jones. From what I can find out she seems to be a marvel attempting to do the whole Batman "hero detective" thing but with some supergirl mixed in for good measure.

Jessica has substantially more PTSD and borderline alcoholism than Supergirl.

It's nothing like that, and in what world is Daredevil a semi-obscure character?

Flat out noir usually doesn't feature protagonists with the power of flight and super strength.

The strawberry float is wrong with David Tennant's face?

It looks like that badly restored painting of Jesus.

Not counting flashbacks Jessica uses her powers like twice in the entirety of Alias.

Having recently read Alias, that trailer gave me tingles. Love how it used a very similar art style to the book.

Before I read the book I was quite indifferent to this. I expected it to be good, but nothing amazing. The book has me more hyped for this than I thought I'd ever be. Can't wait.

Oh and if you haven't guessed I would very much suggest reading the book. Absolutely top notch writing and beautiful art work. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Though it might be best to wait till after you've seen the show, as I'm assuming that it uses a lot of the comic storyline.

So wait, they give her powers and then not have her use them? Weird approach, considering you would think having a non-powered protagonist would probably increase the sense of jeopardy and would seem like a better choice. If you are going to give your character some extraordinary ability the general rule is that they have to need it, otherwise they are not being fully challenged.

Not bashing it or anything, seeing as I have not seen it, it just seems like a really strange choice in narrative.

I agree with Irene, but I'd have worded it a bit more.... diplomatically.

If you've not read it then it might seem strange, yes. But it's absolutely in line with who she is and makes perfect sense once you see what kind of story they're telling (Again, assuming they're basing it more or less on the books storyline). So as long as they don't strawberry float it up (All signs point to that not being the case so far) it could potentially be my favourite of the Netflix shows.

So to summarise, Read the strawberry floating thing or shut up. ;)

EDIT: Watched the teaser again and I just noticed the subtle David Tennant voiceover saying "Jessica" two or three times. Amazing stuff.

I wasn't expecting Daredevil to be anywhere near as violent and mature as it was, so I won't be surprised at all if they stick to the major plot points from the comic of this as much as possible.
