Its a great way to spend about 10 hours. There are proabably a few games i would recommend ahead of it mind, but if you want something with zero stress but also a sense of achievement and progresison, its hard to beat.

Except for the final boss. I never understood how to do that.

This is fun, but its not as good as the first one imo, or SR4.

I never played the first one outside of the demo. I think I have it, maybe I will give it a go.

I really enjoyed it. It wraped up just in time for the charm to have not worn off.

I kinda get the impression that this is actually quite fun; a decent game but it never really recovered from the hype of the planned "cloud-computed destruction"?

Yea, i think that was a mutliplayer thing - I never even downloaded that side of the game. As a single player game its just simple fun with a rewarding sense of ability progression.

I also really enjoyed scaling the propaganda towers, they felt like just the right amount of challenge.

Those are the only part I’m getting slightly pee’d off with. First 2 or 3 were ok, but I had to give up on one of them as, despite the checkpoint halfway up, I just can’t make the final last couple of jumps. The need to jump, air rush, double jump, move camera up and then down to check if I’m landing on a moving platform or not, just does me every time.

I’ve spent all day today and yesterday playing this game. Racked up 10hrs easily so far. Defeated a few of the bosses and am level 5 on 2 of my skills, with 2 more skills on level 4.

Really enjoyable game on the whole. Complete mayhem at times but in a really fun way.

Highly recommend it. Haven’t tried MP and probably never will download that part

Is CD2 worth playing? Have that downloaded but never fired it up

I'm the only person that enjoyed it I think. It's more of the same, but still great fun.

I loved the first one - I found the orb hunting in CD1 to be so addictive. Think I'll give CD3 more of a chance in the future.

I liked Crackdown 2 also, it's CD1 but with Zombies (kinda).

The zombies were probably the worst thing about the first game :dread:

I only ever played CD3 briefly during the xCloud preview and the input lag kind of killed it for me. Might have to give it a proper go at some point as there is no harm in a big dumb shooter like this and it sounds like they got closer to the magic of the first game this time so it should be fun

Finished CD3 campaign. Done most of the collectives apart from all the orbs, the races and a mini objective which I'll probably look up a location map online for.

The propaganda towers were easily achieved once I obtained the wingsuit and had scaled the tallest building and unlocked the respawn point on the roof. Gliding to be 3/4 the way up a tower made them much easier!

Thoroughly enjoyed it and unlocked over 800GS so far too with another 900 or so left if I want to put the effort and time into them

I just started playing this as it's on gamepass and I needed some mindless single player "comfort food" gaming after having my mind blown by Outer Wilds.

I've got to say, I don't understand all the scathing reviews this got at launch. It's not setting the world on fire or anything, but it's got a nice core gameplay loop.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Yeah, I found it a great way to pass the time whilst I was signed off work recently.

Now I’ve beaten all the bosses it’s lost some appeal but that’s not really the game’s fault. Still fun trying to find and do the races, stunt loops etc. Can’t believe I’ve still got around 200 agility and hidden orbs to find! I feel like I’ve scoured the city loads of times already!

Only used an online map for the 3 remaining monkey moonshine booths as they were pissing me off. Found over 600 agility and about 120 hidden orbs but feel a map is required to get all of them, yet inclination is waning

Might fire up the Keys to the City mode to see what that’s like

Yeah, I think it's a case of - as has happened with some other games in recent years - certain not-so-good aspects can overtake any sense of reasonable overall assessment of the game.

Star Wars Battlefront II - pretty good fun but LOOT BOXES.
Fallout 76 - pretty good fun but IT JUST WORKS.
Avengers - pretty good fun but LIVE SERVICE.
No Man's Sky - pretty good fun but LIES. DISGUSTING LIES.
Crackdown 3 - pretty good fun but CLOUD DESTRUCTION.

I'm not, of course, saying that the bad aspects shouldn't be called out, discussed or derided; just that it doesn't mean the whole game is terrible.

Absolutely. This is a solid 7 out of ten game. Does nothing new, but it's fun to jump about and shoot things, whilst collecting other things, and exploding yet more things.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

That pretty much encapsulates the narrative surrounding each game!

This I think had scathing reviews sue to it not doing things as good as Crackdown. There's a comparrison video )likely in the thread) showing a fair whack of things, like aiming at car tyre and punchering it will spin or slip a car in the first game and that doesn't happen inthis. there's quite a lot of examples. I still had fun with this though.

literally onthe last page

Downgrades happen all the time in video games, but this is a pretty scandalous example. The assertion that this is just more Crackdown seems to be false; it's just an inferior version of a decade old game. :?
