A few questions for the you guys.

1: Do either of the Witcher games have any sort of controller support?

2: If not, do they play better in overhead or over-the-shoulder view?

3: I got to the start of chapter 3 in the first game, but stopped about a year ago. Is it worth picking up from there or should I call it quits and go to the sequel (which I already own, but never played)?

4: Is Amalur worth a purchase? I played the PS3 demo and loved the presentation, but the poor performance meant I couldn't really tell how well it played.

I know Witcher 2 has controller support as mine worked instantly when I test installed it. No idea about the first game as I haven't even downloaded it through Steam yet.

The Witcher 2 maps perfectly with the 360 controller. It actually plays a lot better with that than with mouse & keyboard.

I'd probably just start with the second one rather than finishing the first one. Just watch the ending for the first game on YouTube or something.

I just use an air compressor to clean stuff as I do some modelling too. Saves on buying cans of air all the time.

I'll read a plot synopsis and make a start on the second game, then, under the pretense that "I'll totally get back to this and play it through some day", but secretly knowing I never will.

I call this the mass effect.

The Witcher 1 = fetch quests.

Even the main quests are all poorly thought out fetch quests. It's really irritating. No fast travel which makes everything that much more tedious.

Oh Crysis what have they done to you :x

Started Crysis 2, and it has nothing on the first game so far. And what's the difference between graphics settings because I can't see a difference at all between Advanced and Hardcore besides a slight drop in FPS.

AND WHERE THE strawberry float IS NOMAD EH!

No I think you'll find that PC gamers made all that stuff up as part of a grand evil plot.

I think i'm about half way through Chapter Two in The Witcher and am starting to get bored of it now. The quests are pretty much the same with different people. I had a quest earlier where I had to go to point A, cross a river by talking to Guy A, go to point B, go back across the river with Guy A, back to point A, back across the river with Guy A then back to point B. With no fast travel stuff like that is a pain in the ass, although I am doing a quest where i've been given some kind of teleportation device, but i've not tested it yet. The story is pretty good though...

the Fedex quest is a staple of RPG gameplay, and if you're actively looking for it it's pretty difficult to disguise.
