As scared as I am, after forcing myself through Outlast and Alien Isolation, I really am enjoying this. The combat is satisfying so far.

I'd say Alien Isolation is a much more consistent fear throughout.

This matches it during some NOPE moments - but not throughout like AI.

God I loved AI.

Alien Isolation was and still is a classic which I will replay years from now but it did feature a sh*t ton of cheap deaths.

Weird, I absolutely loved Alien Isolation but didn't find it scary at all.

Am finding this a lot more unsettling to play and just down right unpleasant at times. Just gotten outside and am enjoying it in a weird kind of way.

I finally tried the demo last night, and liked it far more than I had expected. Bought the digital deluxe version first thing this morning.

Watching the gameplay, I definitely get Alien Isolation and Outlast vibes. Things hunting you down in confined spaces... way too much for me to cope with. It does look slightly less stressful than either of those two games, though - you know, the usual RE daftness always peeks through.

Alien and outlast youre pretty much defenceless. You certainly arent here classic RE weapons and tonnes of ammo towards the latter part of the game.

Whoever moaned the end of the game was gooseberry fool is wrong as well.

Fabian Delph is a banana split.

Yes I am sir. I can't afford the game until the next pay day two weeks tomorrow, so I'll order the candle then too(if it's still in stock). I'm a sucker for gaming bits and bobs(I'm looking at my lovely Ico canvas underneath my Nathan drake statue as I type)

Man it sucks being skint and working in a gig with a gooseberry fool pay lol.

Fair play, dude. The candle is currently out of stock at Amazon but the external seller says they'll be back in stock on 14 Feb.

Yeah I've been thinking of Alien Isolation a lot during this. Think RE7 does a great job of merging modern horror game tropes with the classic RE1-3 formula. I'm loving it so far

Just played the first hour or so through in VR...that was...intense.

Was slow going to begin with, but as soon as the Chainsaw came out I was fully involved. Not sure I'm going to be able to do any really long sessions in VR though, especially not if the rest of the game is like that (well the second half hour I guess).
