Tumble dryers should be illegal

Would it not be easier to do it on the seat of the motorbike?

Only 3?

Degenerate neighbour bloke runs his for 6+ hours a day sometimes, after a while you end up feeling as if you've got tinnitus.

Does anyone who lives in a semi detached, terrace or apartment block have to deal with music or noise from their neighbours? And what would deemed to be unacceptable levels of sound?

Oh yes, he has a dog too.

This means that between the tumble dryer whirring for hours, you either get a howling dog (which is when he is out of the house, and so has been known to last up to 9 hours before), or screaming kids (in summer the kids are screaming and shouting on my front drive literally centimetres from my open window on a hot day).

Degenerate neighbour bloke once spent an entire morning having what i can only describe as a rave, the noise could be heard several streets away.

To cut a long story short, he's the second worst neighbour i've ever had.

I can on occasion, hear music playing through our party wall. It's not loud and if we put TV on it drowns it out but if we're winding down and trying to get the wean to bed it can be distracting.

On the same note I often have music on in the kitchen so they would be able to hear that.

Is that just life in a semi detached house?

It’s definitely life in an ex-council block.

My place isn't ex council, or a block, it should be a quiet leafy sort of street, but sadly, it isn't.

Perhaps I'm just being overly sensitive. The house next door was empty for the first two years of us living here so we've probably got used to the silence. It's different now the neighbours have moved in.

I think so, yes. It's been my experience for the last 10 years also. I'd love to own a detached house but I don't really see that happening.

Recently bought a house ready to move in this Saturday. I have been in it most days and evenings fixing it up for the move and, fingers crossed, have yet to hear a peep from my neighbours.

I much prefer occasionally hearing my neighbours to wondering if they died and no ones found the body

I can relate to that. I live in a shared house and from about September last year through to maybe June this year there has been only me in the house and the peace and quiet has been quite refreshing. It's been filling up again since then and now it's back to full capacity (6 people) so it's getting a bit chaotic again.

Degenerate neighbour bloke's tumble dryer has now been running for more than 4 hours.

Ugh, it's just that constant whirring, even when i'm watching TV, i can feel the vibrations (hello no context thread) and hear the bloody thing above my headphones.

Then, when it stops, you hope it's finished for the day, but then, a minute or so later, he starts it up yet again.

NO ONE CAN POSSIBLY HAVE THAT MUCH LAUNDRY FOR strawberry float's SAKE!
