Can't wait! The only game I'm more interested in is Half Life 2 Episode 3/Half Life 3

Probably just be a city based on LA. So Los Santos.

Returning character to be CJ from San Andreas? He was youngish in that which was set in the 90s. So +20 years makes him still young enough to be a playable character.

Hope not. Wasn't really a fan of CJ.

Just hurry up and announce some solid details, Rockstar. :x

Actually, that's a pretty good point. You amass oodles of cash in the game, but don't really get am opportunity to spend the spoils. How about allowing us to buy swanky pads, fancy cars (yes I know you can steal them!) and all sorts of other crap Rockstar? The little incidentals seems to have taken a step back from the San Andreas game. Although, I wouldn't want the gym training crap to return!

God I hope not, whilst Vice City was probably my favourite of the old school GTA games, it was in-spite of Tommy Vercetti not because of him. The guy is just lazy a wiseguy stereotype.

Should be able to buy plane tickets to visit other cities/places. Probably asking for a bit much with that though.

Not so keen on a version of LA. Would have proffered Vice City, or even some other part of America, like Chicago or Houston

Or London :shifty:

Do we think this will actually be GTA5? Or GTA: Los Santos (or whatever they call the city), using the GTA4 engine?

Cannot wait for this  I agree with Kklein, it would've been nice to see somewhere new but still looking forward to it though. Falsey's probably right the returning character is probably Lazlow...but i find it's strange the way they worded it - Lazlow was in all the last gen GTA games, not just San Andreas.

They went for the "rags to slightly nicer rags" story with Niko...i'm hoping for a return to rising to the top of a criminal empire in GTA 5. It's amazing just how many features GTA 4 was lacking but hoping they bring back things like being able to buy properties, lets us buy shops again, more shops in general, etc.

One feature i liked in GTA 4 and i hope they develop it further is the whole choice thing in some missions. I'm hoping that we get more choices like that in missions but this time round they have a greater impact on the story. Another thing i think they could do is provide perhaps story arches. Say if you fail a mission....it shouldn't be a simple case of redoing it, perhaps the story could develop along a different path if you...let a drug dealer get away or fail to stop a character from getting killed. Things like that will add even more replay value to the game.

Car customisation should make a return as well.

One feature that was hyped up but didn't quite deliver was the whole cell phone thing. If they bring it back they should give us more freedom, let us make the calls to characters to inform them that we've done or failed a mission. Maybe even let us ring up friends to help us out on some missions or even be able to socialise with multiple friends/characters at once.

Another thing i think would be cool in a game like GTA is if they copied Fallout 3's "random" events feature. In Fallout 3 you'd stumble across things like Brotherhood members fighting a deathclaw or random people just coming up to you needing help, in GTA when you're in free roam we could see scripted events like a gang attempting to rob a store or rival gangs meeting up to have a gang fight or gangs having a shootout with cops - just things like this to make the city a big more believable and more alive so to speak. Speaking of cops, here's hoping their AI is beefed up and they're made to be a bit more believable as well. Hopefully civilians/AI will be capable of committing more crimes so the cops pursue them more as well.

Stereotypical or not, Tommy Vercetti is by far my favourite GTA main character. I didn't mind Niko to be honest. I didn't like the Mafia characters in GTA 4 to be honest, not a patch on the characters like Salvatore Leone from the "GTA 3 universe".

Those are only stuff i can think of off the top of my head, i can probably think of a ton more stuff i'd love to see in the next GTA  :fp:

They need to bring back properties - even if it's just extra hideouts. I didn't like losing the original and not getting another on the first island.

Scripted events should be at a minimum. When chasing someone, the car was usually invincible and would speed up if you ever got too close. You could then only kill the driver if you reached a certain point.

Just remake San Andreas, change the main character and stick a new story in it.

Instant win.

Id like the city to remain persistant. Imagine an MMO-style world but unique to each player. Rockstar could then provide weekly downloads where new roads open up more of the gameworld.
This could then be supported by a GTAV app that allows you to monitor the going on away from your console. In addition the app could 'ring' in real life and dictate a mission. You get home from work and off you go! The catch would be the details of the mission are only ever dictated the once, meaning take notes or risk losing.

Give us some proper sandbox stuff in the missions this time, please. And no more "invincible until a certain point in the chase is reached" scenarios!

That sounds like it would not only be a nightmare to implement, but would be appauling to play.
The persistant city would be nice, but everything else there sounds like it would just kill the game and turn it into a chore.

All I ask is for variety in the environment. I didn't bother finishing GTA IV because it was all set in the one environment which after a while just bored me to tears.

That for me was why San Andreas was so great as you had the variety of the mountains, the city, the beach, the desert and then the Vegas playground.
