Dude just got arrested outside my house for arguing about a police cordon because stuff was falling off a church.
He was insisting they can't tell him what to do and they were setting up an inconvenience because they (the police) enjoy doing it. Really loud and aggressive so (edit: this was BEFORE he was restrained
) I opened my door and asked them to please stop yelling at the two police officers and jog on (which was a bit of a life raft), addressing them as "Sir", speaking "as a neighbour". His drama is more disturbing than his having to walk 100 feet in another direction to get to his flat. They kept arguing with the police so they pushed him away from the cordon, at which point he was handcuffed for public disorder offense. He was still shouting at them so I opened the window and asked them advocating for autistic people to please stop yelling (as I was close to getting overwhelmed and crying). He just shouted, "I don't care that you're autistic. I don't care", and I should basically shut up while making "hand talking" (yap yap) gestures. So on the one hand he's pissed off he needs to walk a different way, but I'm not allowed to speak to him in a civil manner about my needs from within my home that he's outside yelling about pointless gooseberry fool. So that is him telling me what to do and saying my rights don't matter regardless of my disability. What a wonderful person.
I think I do have a right to ask someone to move on if they are loudly arguing with two police officers and that causes me distress. What a banana split. Went away in a car and will probably be cautioned for being an arsehole. Me I just exploded crying as with my brain I could not escape the argument, it doesn't matter where in the house I am I cannot un listen to it as my brain is incapable of filtering any of it out. I hear it all. I stepped out again to ask for support so PC came to help me calm down before they took him away.
All over this. Seriously. Just this.
Edit: funny these hot Fuzz references as in similar circumstances the exact phrase I used was "please jog on" before closing my door (a polite way of saying this is not up for discussion with an argumentative twat)
Edit: important note, it was not the man in the van in this picture, I think that was actually the structural surveyor, it was a bit after this pic the angry man showed up, who could literally have just walked around the corner but instead chose to challenge the officers for strawberry float knows what reason.
Also, the cordon was taken down 2 hours later. World's most strawberry floating pointless argument and police takedown. I wish I recorded it.
