Finding the combat decidedly dodgy but enjoying the game more nonetheless. The tutorials help a lot and are nicely drip thread through to you. It seems to refer back to assumed knowledge a lot so I'm not really sure what's going on with the world and I don't love the region dynamic. The graphics also aren't as gorgeous as I expected despite there being some nice views. It's also buggy as hell which surprised me so long after release.

Brilliant game, which is resting until that big dlc hits in spring 2016. I really loved this game and feel it was my favourite of 2015, ahead of bloodborne and fallout 4.

I am level 37 and probably never went below 2/3rds of his health bar

I think just ignoring anything that was confusing me and ploughing on with the main quests was the right decision. Done most of the Bloody Baron stuff and really enjoying things now. The gameplay is a little simplistic at its core, but the combat is growing on me and the fetching around for stuff is mindlessly enjoyable.

The lighting and the world can be really pretty to.

Its not really about gameplay innovation - its more about getting engrossed into the world, conpleting the sidequests and living the life of a witcher. Thats what I didn't get when i first purchased and played it, but learnt that its all about the characters, the world and the atmosphere.

When OWF (which for me is the appeal wearing off exploring the world, and doing side missions which take my fancy) hits, and it always does, that's when I power through the main story.

How do I get more space to carry stuff, I keep getting overburdened.

So far the game seems good and solving my problems before they come up but this one is persisting.

Get a bigger bag to hold things. I think you can buy them from merchant iirc.

I simply cannot wait for the final expansion - its out in march, right? March to may is going to be sheer gaming heaven with this, dark souls 3 and uncharted 4! Then theres E3!

I'm about 40 hours in and only found this out recently, mostly because it was becoming a total ball ache.

The wife of the Blacksmith at Crow's Perch sells an upgrade that adds a further 70 onto your holding limit. Think they're about 250 gold.

There's chests at some inns that you can store stuff in too.

Ive just come back to this after a few months off, and it's so so good. Every side quest and main quest has been so well thought off and means something. This is a proper open world game.

Combat can be a bit repeteive, but the world is so rich and interesting.

I'm level 25 or so, done loads of quests and I've just done a good lap of the main locations.

Damn right, even the smallest of quests has a good story to it. I really felt the characters were were thought out and some had terrific and memorable endings to their questline.

Loving this to bits and close to completing it. Was wondering if I'm better off buying the season pass on the PS4 for £19.99 or just to get the current expansion for £8 as the second part hasn't been released yet.

The story, quest detail and (most of) the dialogue are far and away the game's best strengths.

To be honest, I don't really think the open-world-iness was spot on in W3. It's a far better 'game' than it is an 'open world game', if that makes sense. I never really had much of an urge to explore, compared to something like Fallout 4 - which was better at being an open world game, even if it ended up being a lesser game overall than W3.

Witcher 3 could have easily dropped the whole open world thing and been just as good IMO. Might actually have been even better, focusing right in on the story and quests in more rigid linked game areas, like W2.

The more focused style of W2 married to the improved writing of W3 would be a perfect Witcher marriage.

I'm about to head to isle of mists and think I'm getting towards the end.

I'm also interested in the dlc. Any thoughts on whether they'll put the season pass on offer?

Where do you go to sell trophies from killed creatures, assuming you're supposed to sell them. Items like this have a price next to them but merchants don't pay anything like what they say they're worth.

Played 10+ hours this weekend and I think I'm finally starting to get into the characters and story a bit more. It's not that I wasn't enjoying it before now, but rather that I was just going through the motions a bit for the sake of the questing and such. Not sure what's clicked since going through Novigrad but I feel a bit more invested in the world now and am really enjoying things.

There's a guy in a house just outside of Novigrad to the east (I think) that can buy them off you.

I find I just don't need cash. I pick up so much tat, sell weapons to black smiths and armour to armourers and I've had more than 12k for ages. I buy some ingredients and recipes every now and then.

Doing the giant side quest on Skellige this evening, it was bloody brilliant.

Been listening to the soundtrack for this over the last few days. It has to be one of the best game soundtracks ever, not a weak track on there.

I need Blood & Wine like right now! Already looking forward to my full replay with the expansions after that too.
