I just found this while browsing the future games for PS4 on Boomerang and wondered how many people are going to give it a try.
I've never played a TrackMania game before but it looks pretty good and I'm sure I've seen it mentioned that it has a track editor so that could also be quite fun.

Do we have a PS4 community for this series?

Somehow I managed to preorder a PC key from Amazon US for $10. Trackmania used to be amazing, but the sequel nosedived in popularity. I'm concerned that this version will not have a lot of the features that made it special; obnoxious custom audio, more screen UI than is really necessary or silly custom car models, even on PC.

But it's made by Ubisoft which is a byword for ultra high quality games.
Just look at the fun we have with Rainbow Six Siege and how it always runs flawlessly and never causes to rage quit or get booted from games for no reason.

Made by Nadeo, owned by Ubisoft.

A slight but important difference.

Oh well then if it doesn't have that magic Ubisoft touch then I expect this to be completely gooseberry fool.

Of course its published by Ubisoft, like I said they now own the studio that makes it, they are hardly going to let someone else publish a game they own.

At the same time its still being developed by a studio Ubisoft bought relatively recently rather than an internal studio or one they've had a long time.

Trackmania Turbo will get an open beta on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Ubisoft has announced.

You'll be able to try the game free of charge on either platform from 18th March at 1pm UK time until 21st March, 1pm UK, shortly before the racer's 24th March launch date.

Featuring 20 solo tracks across four environments, the beta offers a hefty sampling of what you'll find in the full game, including online play, a challenge mode, a random track generator, and two Trackbuilder modes. You'll also be able to customize your car, and your account and progression will transfer over if you decide to get the full game.

You can preload it now on XB1 -

I've been playing it most of the morning on the PS4, definitely pre-ordering it now. Managed to get UK number one on track 31, I know it's only the Beta but I'm chuffed with that!

Played 5 campaign & 5 online races, enjoyed it but don't think I'll pick it up. Performance was good.

A lot of content for a beta in this. I forgot how twitchy the handling in this series was. Gonna take a while to get used to this.

I miss the platform mode, though. :(

Good stuff: it's TrackMania as you know and love, and I really like the new environment. The online seems to be handled well.

Bad stuff: I was expecting a Trials-style Track Central for downloading custom tracks, but that seems to be missing, and the Challenges system is no substitute. Additionally, there's an absolute tonne of screen tearing on the PS4 version.
