Roasted beef, proper beef when it's properly cooked to perfection so that it doesn't bounce, is probably my favourite roast.

Although lamb is strawberry floating great too.

As is pork. And chicken...

I think I just like roasts!

Side question- is bacon wrapped sausages a valid side? I’ve just brought a tray to a mates Thanksgiving thing and they have been controversial.

I SWEAR TO strawberry floating GOD I was genuinely doubting my sanity when I called them pigs in blankets and everyone looked at me like I was insane because pigs in blankets are meant to be in pastry.

Like, I knew wrapped in pastry was also called pigs in blankets but I swear no one had ever heard of the concept of calling bacon wrapped sausages also pigs in blankets to the point where I thought I was Mandela-Effecting myself.

I think it's a US thing to call them that when it's pastry. Like many things about the US it is wrong!

I'd thought that pigs-in-blankets were *only* pork sausage wrapped in bacon?

If they're in pastry, are they not sausage rolls?

I sincerely believe you could be justifiably angry if you turned up to a Christmas lunch and there were no pigs in blankets.

We call them Piggy B's, which I know will wind up Ad no end 8-).

I am also completely shocked that they're calling them the wrong thing.

My nan calls them pigs on horseback

I think you need to seriously reevaluate your choice in friends, they are clearly degenerates

Sausages wrapped in bacon are pigs in blankets and they are essential to any Christmas dinner. I know this was thanksgiving but it's still turkey so they should be universally thankful to be blessed a second time with god's own food.

I don’t mind a little bit of it, but it can either taste just a bit strange or dry at a carvery.

Never had it on a Christmas dinner, don’t think I ever will

I normally doa ruddy great buffet and just graze all day, we didn't really do chrimbo dinner when I was growing up just lots of party food, and I can't be arsed with cooking it all not getting to enjoy the day. This year I have Pilau rice to make but the curry will be slow cookering from about 7am.

Yeah I think it would be appropriate to be upset if Piggy B's we're missing. And yeah Skarjo needs to get some better friends ASAP! ;)

What's everyone's perspective on versatility of the humble Yorkshire pudding? Commonly used as an accompaniment for roast beef personally I think they can be used to enhance pretty much any roast!

Yorkshire pudding with every roast. Preferably made with dripping.

Never understood why you would only allow yorkshires with beef. They go great with all roast dinners.
